Johnny Depp has asked former lover Kate Moss to star alongside him in an upcoming Michael Hutchence biopic. Depp, who will play the late INXS frontman, split up with the supermodel in 1997 after a stormy three-year romance.But he is happy for Moss to get close again, and play Hutchence’s girlfriend Paula Yates in the rock movie.
An insider said: “Johnny was asked if it would be a deal breaker for him if Kate was cast.”
“He said ‘Not as far as I’m concerned.’ He figures there’s been enough water under that bridge.
“Obviously director Nick Egan hoping there’s still enough chemistry between them that will translate to the screen.
“It has been claimed she never got over him and in the film they’ll have to appear deeply in love.”
Depp passionately defended Moss through her recent drug scandal and break-up with Babyshambles singer Pete Doherty.The actor, who also admitted he still has feelings for the model, defended her by slamming fashion bosses who dropped her after cocaine scandal. She’s not running for office and she ain’t looking to be the next Messiah,” he said at the time.
“She’s a great girl and I care about her a great deal.”
Hutchence was found dead in a Double Bay hotel room in 1997.

Looking after young children can be stressful work at times, but celebrity mums Julianne Moore and Helena Christensen were both keeping their cool when they were spotted out and about in New York this week.
The two A-listers were wearing floaty white summer clothes as they enjoyed the warm temperatures currently enveloping Manhattan. Julianne, walking hand-in-hand with her eight-year-old son Cal, was also accompanied by husband Bart Freundlich and their little girl Liz when she was snapped strolling through the streets near their Greenwich Village home.
While the actress is well-known for her commitment to her own children, she also does all she can to help youngsters who may have fallen into dangerous situations. Just last week she travelled across the country to Los Angeles to help a new initiative aimed at tracking down missing kids.
And ironically enough, the performer has also just finished work on a new sci-fi thriller about a futuristic world where men are no longer able to procreate. Children Of Men, which is due to hit cinema screens later this year, sees her teaming up with British stars Clive Owen and Sir Michael Caine.
Helena, meanwhile, has been enjoying some quality time with her little boy Mingus. The handsome six-year-old, who seems to have inherited his actor father Norman Reedus’ blonde locks, was sporting a bright yellow T-shirt with cartoon dinosaurs emblazoned across the front as he soaked up the sights and sounds of the Big Apple.

Supermodel Elle Macpherson and property tycoon John Hitchcox are officially an item following a long courtship. The Australian beauty and Hitchcox - who is currently separated from his wife - moved quickly to quash rumours they were romantically involved last month, but they have now become comfortable enough with their love to go public. Hitchcox says, “It started as a friendship and then we had a long courtship but now we are an item.
“We are taking it slowly and trying to be normal.
“We were originally introduced by a mutual friend years ago but it is only in the last months we have become close.”
Elle just split from French financier Arpad Busson, who fathered her two sons - eight-year-old Flynn and two-year-old Cy.

The only thing worse than seeing your fashion double is when your rival wears it better! Us Weekly’s fashion expert Katrina Szish told “Extra” what happens when star styles collide.
“Someone will always look better,” Katrina said. Now Us Weekly is letting you be the judge! The first battle of the babes is between Jennifer Lopez and Victoria’s Secret angel, Gisele Bundchen, who both graced the red carpet in a J LO Sweetface brand dress. Katrina revealed that the dress is not necessarily the focal point. “We know that Gisele and J LO have completely opposite body types, but what really made these looks different were the hair styles,” she explained.
According to Us Weekly’s readers, it was Giselle who tipped the scale at 60 percent, rocking the dress and hair a bit better than Ms. Lopez. In round two, it’s songbird Mariah Carey vs. the versatile Uma Thurman. Both women were spotted sporting the same white brocade Louis Vuitton coat with a Peter Pan collar, but they each wore it in a very different way. Seventy-one percent of fans agreed that Uma’s casual interpretation trumped Mariah’s buttoned up and belted version.
In the final battle, teen queen Lindsay Lohan faces off with model Karolina Kurkova, who both looked dazzling in the same strapless white stunner. But it was Karolina who had a long leg up on Lindsay. Seventy-four percent picked the supermodel’s sleek style over Lindsay’s. Although they are all stunners in these gorgeous confections, there had to be an answer to who wore it best! And thanks to Us Weekly magazine, you too can play fashion police to the stars!

While supermodel Gisele Bundchen has been photographed for an ad campaign on Apple’s line of computers MAC (Macintosh), in the USA, she also endorsed her new campaign to protect the Amazon’s Xingu River from deforestation and pollution. The campaign by the Socioenvironmental Institute to protect the endangered headwaters and the rain forest along the Xingu River in the southern Amazon is called “Y Ikatu Xingu,” which means “clean and good Xingu water,” in the native Kamaiura language. Gisele will “tell the world that the Amazon’s waters are in danger,” the Kaxi Amazon News Agency said Monday. The Xingu River extends about 1,700 miles through the southern Amazon, including Brazil’s first Indian reservation, the 6.92 million-acre Xingu National Park. Ranchers and loggers have encroached on the park and threaten to pollute the river, which has tributaries in 35 cities and towns, the agency said.

South Africa’s very own supermodel, Nicola Breytenbach, has returned to Cape Town from New York to make her acting debut in the film The Blood Diamond, starring Leonardo DiCaprio. Part of the movie is being shot in Cape Town, but in terms of her contract with the film production company, Nicola is not allowed to disclose any details about the part she’ll be playing. The Blood Diamond is based on Greg Campbell’s best-selling book by the same name and tells the story of an illegal diamond syndicate in Sierra Leone.
Besides DiCaprio, who plays an American diamond smuggler, Jennifer Connelly also stars in the movie, due for release next year. Nicola made a name for herself when she became known as the “Revlon Girl”, appearing in commercials all over the world for cosmetics giant Revlon. “I was the Revlon Girl for two years and it was hard, because I wasn’t allowed to change anything about my looks in that period. But it paid about R4-million for six days of work, so that was very good,” she said. Today she lives in America, but she said she enjoyed being back in Cape Town, where some of her relatives and friends live.
Breytenbach moved with her parents to Europe when she was a teen and first worked for a model agency in Amsterdam when she was 19. Today, at 28, she has achieved pretty much everything she can as a model. “I’ve worked with the best photographers and reached all the goals I wanted as a model. But I still love it because of all the cool people I meet,” said Breytenbach. The Blood Diamond is her first acting experience and she said she was very nervous before shooting a scene over the weekend.

Supermodel Kate Moss is set to play the lead role of mythical figure Lady Godiva in an upcoming movie.
The 32-year-old will play the beautiful woman famous in British folklore for riding naked through the streets of the Coventry, England, to save the poor from paying taxes. Director Vicky Jewson chose Moss for the revealing role because of her stunning looks and also the resilience she has shown in the face of media hostility since started her turbulent relationship with Babyshambles singer Pete Doherty last year.
Jewson says, “She’s so perfect for the role. After all, Lady Godiva’s tale is all about one woman’s triumph over adversity.”

Supermodel Jodie Kidd is to swap the catwalk for a console controller to challenge online gamers to some motor racing action next week. The star will be taking on all-comers at ‘Project Gotham Racing 3′ in the latest Xbox Live ‘Game With Fame’ event. Kidd will be chatting and playing with Xbox Live gamers on Tuesday May 30 from 5.30pm-7pm and gamers will have the chance to win a limited edition, black-cased Xbox 360 console. However, it will not be an easy challenge. Kidd is a motor racing enthusiast, recently taking second place in the Trofeo Maserati race at the Bologna Motorshow, with co-driver Fabio Babini. She has also taken part in several Gumball 3000 rallies and held the fastest celebrity lap in Top Gear for some time. Other celebrities who have previously taken part in similar online events include McFly, The Strokes, Kasabian, Embrace, Maroon 5, The Thrills and Goldie Lookin’ Chain.

Supermodel Kate Moss is likely to evade criminal charges over her alleged cocaine-snorting session last year, as police have failed to find any witnesses. As reported, Moss came under fire in September when a British newspaper published images showing her consuming the drug in London’s studio Metropolis.
Though enough evidence has been gathered against Moss to convict her, police are concerned the case will never come to court.
In the next 10 days, the Crown Prosecution Service will decide whether to press charges against her or not. A police source said: “It’s a no-win situation. If she is prosecuted, people will say, ‘Why pick on her and not the thousands of other drug users in London?’ If she isn’t prosecuted it is seen as a waste of money and proof that celebrities can get away with anything.”
The police believe Moss was ’set up’ by a music industry insider. It is rumoured that the Daily Mirror newspaper paid up to $300000 for the mobile phone footage, which broke the scandal.

Model-turned-actress Amber Valletta and former Malcolm in the Middle star Frankie Muniz were spotted passing a large baggie of marijuana back and forth at the legendary Joe’s Stone Crab restaurant in sunny Miami Beach. But there’s no scandal here – the weed was fake and the two were just shooting a scene for the movie My Sexiest Year. (Also in the flick is Harvey Keitel, who has something in common with Amber: Both worked on projects in Toronto last summer and, just weeks apart, shot scenes on the same street near Queen’s Park. Keitel and Valletta even had their trailers set up in the exact same spot!) When it was time for lunch on the set, Amber refused to eat from the craft services buffet – which was good enough for Muniz – and demanded that a fresh turkey wrap be delivered to her. Fellow model Karolina Kurkova, who also appears in the 70s-set movie, wasn’t as much of a diva. She happily posed for pictures with the director’s parents and mingled with extras on the set, raving about how great they looked.
