Supermodel Helena Christensen has insisted she would rather die than go on a diet. Despite being under pressure to stay slim for her career, the 37-year-old beauty insists she eats what she likes and would never follow any eating fads. She said: “As for dieting, I just could not go there because I’m obsessed with food. I would rather die than do that. “I have so much respect for people who have to diet and have to think of their weight. That must be the hardest thing - next to childbirth.” The mum-of-one, who now only models part-time, also revealed that she never worried about getting fat when she was a full-time catwalk queen. She told Britain’s Grazia magazine: “Strangely enough, I didn’t worry at all about my body when I worked as a model full-time. “It was only after I started winding down on modelling that I thought about training, just so I don’t end up completely hunched over like an old woman.”

Supermodel Helena Christensen has admitted to taking drugs. The 37-year-old - who once dated INXS star Michael Hutchence - says she often smoked cannabis and was not afraid to indulge in the recreational substance. She said: “I wouldn’t say no if somebody passed me a joint.” However, Christensen insists she is not like other models who have experimented with harder drugs, including Kate Moss who was captured on film snorting cocaine last year. The catwalk beauty claims many models are attracted to the apparent glamour of Class A narcotics but she was never tempted because of her strict upbringing. She told Britain’s Grazia magazine: “It was never a problem for me. I was brought up with a lot of discipline so I wasn’t attracted to it. But there were a lot of young, beautiful girls on the party scene, with a lot of drugs around. I’m not a saint, but drugs were never my thing.”

FMD had the chance to interview Antonia Trettel, a promising newface at Place Models. At 5’11.5” this German beauty is not only striking but delightfully polite, down to earth and easy going. Antonia may not have planned on becoming a professional model but this won’t stop her from gracing high fashion magazine covers and strutt her stuff on star catwalks very soon. She loves the opportunity to travel, meet new and exciting people but does admit there is a down side to being a fashion model. Nonetheless we’re certain we will be seeing more of Place’s Antonia in the near future …
