It was quite a week for designer Rachel Roy as she was feted, not once but twice, with trunk shows. Last week, pals Karolina Kurkova and Nicole Esposito threw a small cocktail/shopping party in Roy’s honor at the Soho Grand penthouse. Guests such as Margherita Missoni, Kathryn Neale and a slew of fashion industry and public relations types tore through racks of clothes — raking in sales of more than $10,000. And on Wednesday, socials and editors hit the third floor of Bergdorf Goodman to view Roy’s spring 2007 collection. André Leon Talley hosted the light luncheon for his newest protégé, whose chic laser-cut black trenchcoat was doing double duty as a dress for the afternoon. Guests, including Jill Kargman, Fabiola Beracasa and Zani Gugelmann gathered around the bar nibbling on egg and bacon tea sandwiches while Roy’s husband, Damon Dash, worked the room, as per usual.

Supermodel Linda Evangelista has given birth to a healthy baby boy in New York. The 41-year-old Canadian beauty, who has never publicly revealed the identity of the baby’s father, named her new son Augustin James Evangelista.
During her pregnancy she said she was not worried about the effects of pregnancy on her figure. “I’m not freaked out at all,” she said. “I embrace it. I believe I’m doing everything to go through this as smoothly as possible. I’m either doing yoga or exercising every day.
She told Vogue she has used Botox in the past but stopped when she learned she was pregnant. She also said she was not planning a “comeback” because she was not going anywhere.
“I decided when I was 12 that modelling is what I wanted to do,” she said. “I know how to be a good model. And I don’t have a Plan B in place.”
This is the first child for Evangelista, who suffered a miscarriage in 1999 when she was six months pregnant by her then boyfriend, French footballer Fabian Barthez.
In July her agent, Didier Fernandez, told the New York Post he was “speechless” over a rumour that she became pregnant by artificial insemination.
Evangelista has been married once, to Elite Model Management founder Gerald Mari from 1987 to 1993, and was involved with Twin Peaks star Kyle MacLachlan from 1992 to 1998.
She was most recently linked to Formula One racing driver Paolo Barilla and Canadian singer Bryan Adams.

Elle Macpherson is dropping her lawsuit against rival model Heidi Klum - after meeting the Dalai Lama.
The supermodel who has been known as ‘The Body’ for years, was furious Heidi - 10 years her junior - launched a bra named ‘The Body’, claiming it was her nickname.
Supermodel Elle initially decided to take legal action over the use of the name, but after meeting with the Buddhist spiritual leader she decided to halt her planned action and graciously share her nickname.
She said: “A few people have made me stop in my tracks and the Dalai Lama would be one of them.”
Speaking about the nickname argument, she professed: “It’s no big deal for me. She can have it.”
In August, Heidi became the face of a new lingerie line for Victoria’s Secret, which included a bra named ‘The Body’. The German model said in the advertisement: “They call me ‘The Body’ and now I have one named after me.”
A spokesperson fro Elle - who has her own underwear and skincare empire worth ?34 million - said at the time: “We were initially flabbergasted.
“We have numerous press clipping in the office referring to her as ‘The Body’. In terms of public record, that name belongs to Elle.”

Supermodel Kate Moss has been named the most influential celebrity in the world, beating out megastars like Madonna and even Brad and Angelina!
British experts analyzed how many times a star is mentioned in the media, magazine covers, and entries on Google.com to come up with the power list.
Everyone’s favorite born-again Brit Madonna came in at #2, with soccer stud David Beckham in third. Angelina edged out her real-life paramour, Brad Pitt, by one spot to come in at #5.
While Moss may have more promotional campaigns than she can count and a personal style that is often emulated by women around the world (including celebs like Sienna Miller, Nicole Richie, and Lindsay Lohan), we hope her alleged drug use debacle of 2005 isn’t anything people want to mirror.

Jane Shepherdson, the outgoing boss of Topshop, has dismissed as laughable any suggestion she left the fashion chain after a row over supermodel Kate Moss. It has been claimed that Topshop’s hiring of Ms Moss caused problems.
Ms Shepherdson insisted she helped seal the deal as “nothing would happen in Top Shop without me agreeing to it”.
In her first interview since she quit her post, she told the Daily Telegraph she had decided to move on, adding: “You cannot do the same thing forever.” She also said she had not yet decided what to do when she leaves the chain.
However, while she did tell the newspaper she had had “lots” of job offers she did hint that she would not work for another retailer after 18 years at Topshop. Press speculation about the reasons behind Ms Shepherdson’s decision to resign as brand director of Topshop has been rife since she announced she was leaving the group last week.
Many reports claimed she was upset at boss Sir Philip Green’s decision to take on the controversial model for a “design collaboration”, with others suggesting Ms Shepherdson was angry she had not been consulted over the deal.
But Ms Shepherdson strongly denied the claims in the Telegraph saying they were “simply not true”.
“I like Kate and find it embarrassing that people think I left over a row about a supermodel. It is a shame that people think I’m that trivial,” she added.
Ms Shepherdson is credited with turning around the fashion group - one of the most profitable parts of Mr Green’s Arcadia empire - which is expected top bring in profits of ?100m this year.

Supermodel Niki Taylor is engaged to NASCAR Busch Series Driver Burney Lamar. Taylor, 31, and Lamar, 26, met at a charity event in January and plan to get married early next year.
The model’s manager Lou Taylor confirmed the engagement to Us Weekly magazine. Lamar got down on one knee at Taylor’s parents’ home in Florida on September 15 to propose with a custom-made two-carat oval diamond in an antique setting.
Taylor suffered a near-fatal car accident in 2001 and has endured over 41 surgeries. She is now fully recovered and owns a Nashville, Tennessee boutique called Abbie & Jesse’s.
Taylor has twin boys, Jake and Hunter, age 11, with her ex-husband Matt Martinez, whom she divorced in 1996.
She also dated country music star Keith Urban on and off in 2002 and 2003. Urban married actress Nicole Kidman in June.

Paris Hilton has been caught alledgedly carrying cannabis in her handbag. The 25-year-old socialite attended a fashion party in Milan and was pictured with a transparent plastic bag of what appeared to be skunk, a powerful form of marijuana, as she opened her handbag.
A witness said: “Paris had her bag open for quite a while as she applied lip gloss. There were a few shocked faces around her but she carried on chatting away.”
The hotel heiress was wearing two watches on her left wrist as she applied lip gloss but was sporting just one time piece as she posed for photographers at the bash.
Last month, Paris was charged with drunk driving after police stopped her as she speeded to get a burger after a charity event.
The ‘House of Wax’ star and part-time model insists she only drank one cocktail but had been driving erratically as she hadn’t eaten all day. She is due in court in December.
Last week, Paris was involved in a catfight with Shanna Moakler, the ex-wife of Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker.
Paris Hilton had recently been seen kissing Travis and a furious Shanna allegedly punched her in the jaw after seeing her on a night out.

From the catwalk to the living room, the latest fashion trend has become a weighty debate: Have models become dangerously thin?
Some have even voiced concerns that super-skinny models may negatively influence young girls to develop eating disorders.
Take a few statistics into consideration: The average runway model is a size two to a size four, while the average American woman is a size 14. Models are typically five-feet-ten and above, and weigh in around 120 pounds. While the weight debate continues, fashion show organizers in Spain recently declared that ultra-thin models would be banned from their runways.
At the launch of Victoria’s Secret’s “Very Sexy” make-up line, top model Gisele Bundchen spoke out on the controversy.
“I don’t find it sexy at all being a stick,” she tells.
While Gisele is famous for her curves, she says being slender is natural for her.
“At 16, no matter what, I couldn’t put a pound on,” she says.
Czech model Karolina Kurkova, also at the Victoria’s Secret launch, says that while some take it too far, it’s hard to tell who’s naturally thin and who might have an unhealthy obsession with their weight.
“I think the trend is very skinny,” she says. “Some people take it to extremes, but it’s so hard - it’s really hard to judge that.”

Trouble is reportedly brewing in Kate Moss’ love life once again, following reports that she and beau Pete Doherty had a humungous bust-up, which led to the troubled rocker storming out of the house in the wee hours of the morning.
A pal revealed that the couple had had an almighty row over Doherty’s decision to hit the road once again – a row that resulted in the rocker storming out of the house at 3.30 am dressed in just a pair of jeans and a torn jacket, sans shoes.
“Kate is angry Pete is on the road so soon after being in rehab. He is clearly back on drugs and she can’t see how he can stay clean on tour,” The Sun quoted the pal, as saying.
A source also revealed that Doherty became so angry during the showdown that he smashed up his beloved Guild acoustic guitar.
“Pete burst out of the door looking pretty angry and was going on about how he had smashed his guitar. He was looking everywhere for a taxi to get home but he couldn’t find one, this made him even more angry,” the Daily Mail quoted the source, as saying.
Doherty went off in a huff to a pal’s place in east London, but returned after persistent calls from Moss.
The couple then left the place, and are now reportedly at Moss’ place in the Cotswolds, where she wants Doherty to move full time so that he can concentrate on a new album.
“Kate wants Pete to move full-time to her cottage there. She’s desperate for him to give up the shows and settle down to write a new album,” the source added.
