Let me say this once and for all.

This illness/disease is not started from the fashion industry. It is a problem within the individual (self esteem, selfworth, etc…).

It is not related to the fashion industry UNLESS those with the illness attract that industry to them. My point is, it has to start within the individual first.

So many people think “oh, its because the model agencies like skinny girls…or they make the models lose weight…etc”. If that model isn’t already suffering with low self esteem and powerlessness issues before going in to that agency then they would never get steered towards further damage.

I’m not saying that its not hard to be affected by the fashion industry and the images and wanting to look like the models but just to give you another point of view. I am NATURALLY skinny and healthy and i wanted to gain weight to look like the models of the early 90’s (which to me was skinny with some curve).

So there are other issues out there that other girls are dealing with.

I wish all of them love. The bottom line with all of it (to me) is that we have lost how to value ourselves.

i think this is sad but can be avoided! if modeling agencies just didnt emmit models who are size 4-0 this would b better because people wouldnt think that it was ‘fashionable’ 2 be that thin!

This is disturbing, particularly knowing that she was from my native Brazil. Anorexia is a terrible disease and it doesn�t strike only young girls. My father suffered from depression and died of anorexia at age 63.

Appearance is something very glorified in Brazil, particularly in Rio. I know this is terrible, but when I was younger, I remember that would not date a girl without checking her body on the beach first. If she didn�t have a perfect body, I would not date her. What an idiot I was! I am very happy that at some point in my life I grew up, changed my point of view and started searching for a woman and not for a Greek statue. Unfortunately, many men are immature and superficial and have girlfriends to show-off to their buddies.

Injecting fat will not help someone who is dying of malnutrition. They need minerals, vitamins, proteins, carbs, etc.

I doubt he death was related with drug abuse. As far as the news in Brazil said at the time, all she was eating was tomatoes and apples. Besides, the repercussion of her death was too big to hide any suspicions of drug abuse. It would be all over the newspapers.

As for the trolls, all I have to say is � Get a life!

My heart is with her family.

These are horrible news and I am glad that countries like Spain go ahead and prohibit models like that to participate in fashion shows. I even like girls/women that have well formed body. There is no need for a woman to be that skinny. I think it might be the perversion of fashion designers to demand that thin models.

“cha” -why do you wanted to vomite all you ate??are you stupid !at moment yopu may think that everything will be okay but it is not like that!!
im 15 years old and im proud that i dont keep all theese diets and i eate all i see -i have a normal weigh and im proud of myself!!!

oh..it is so sad!i dont understand why people want to be thin??if God made you like this sao be like you are but not trie to be thin!!i always think about anorexik people-and i dont understand why they think like that!!??once i saw a movie based on realy things and it was about an anorexik girl and in the end she died and nobody understood her, and why she dont stop!!
i always advices my friends not to keep all theese diets but they dont listen to me!
and now i have a friend that i s so thin as she has skoleoz and all these things i think she is probaly 40-45 kilos!she is so thin!!:(

Wow, when I first clicked on this link, I thought it was about Gisele. It’s a shame to see how far some of these girls will go to make sure that they stay in work. It’s nice to see determined people succeed, but they’re really just taking it too far. Thank God that the fashion industry is finally doing something to curb this problem.

I cant belive this had to happen to a beautiful girl lke this. Im only 12 and i know of girls in my school who are gonna end up just like this if they dont seek help. God has given us a beautiful body,we shouldnt have to be forced to cange it for the media!! And for everyone whos posting the wong stuff about this girl, “like word on the streets its, drugs” get a life!
I PRAY every night this problem will SOON be resolved…before it gets worse…becuase it will…
