Supermodel, almost-jailbird, Naomi Campbell, is up in a rage (careful Naomi) after hearing of a Naomi look-alike who has been parading through the London celebrity party scene pretending to be the supermodel. “She’s an imposter, a fake”, screamed Naomi!
Naomi, who just got through being basically forgiven for her violent temper by a Manhattan, NY judge over charges stemming from her phone-throwing incident last year, is now up in a rage in Great Britain, where Campbell - so far - has not been charged over her violent escapades. Before being let go by the judge, she had skipped a prior court appearance and was nearly jailed over it.
It turns out that this mysterious Naomi Campbell imposter had the gall to show up Wednesday night at the posh OASIS British Awards after-show party - which is strictly by invite only.
It happens that a keen-eyed band member, Noel Gallagher, spotted the fake Naomi as she tried to gain entrance at the door to the chic event and had her kindly escorted back onto the street.
Naughty Naomi was quoted as saying, “You gotta find the imposter for me. Who is she, who is she? I can’t believe she’s masquerading around town as me.”
“I wasn’t even in London on Wednesday during the Brits as I was on a modeling shoot in Paris. It’s not right!” proclaimed the black beauty of behavioral therapy or anger management as it’s called on the streets of New York.
If I were this fake Naomi I’d be careful. If the real Naomi Campbell ever catches up with her there’s liable to be some nail scratching and hair pulling going on and if Naomi happens to have a cell phone with her. Well, look out Naomi imposter, you’ll be knocked on your rump for sure.
Perhaps Naomi should fly over to Sydney Australia and join has-been superstar, Sylvester Stallone, where the two could promote their new movie Rambo and Rambetta, to take advantage of all the publicity Campbell’s gotten for her rage over a silly pair of blue jeans she didn’t even want! Or maybe she’ll shave her head like Britney Spears just did. I hear it’s all the latest rage on the chic nightclub scene.

It seems that those reports about Kate Moss waving goodbye to Pete Doherty are not quite so true, especially since she is reportedly planning to buy a remote love nest for them to get away to.
British paper the News of the World reported on Sunday, Feb 11, that the model had broken off her relationship with Doherty, causing the rocker to ‘flip’.
“Kate told Pete that there’s no chance of marriage or kids. She laid her cards on the table and Pete flipped. He doesn’t want it to end-he’s so in love with Kate,” the source added,” the paper had quoted a source, as saying.
However, a close friend now insists that the two are very much together, and that the British supermodel is now on the look out for a safe, drug-free place for him to be at his most creative.
“Kate keeps getting frustrated with Pete, but she cannot leave him. She feels let down by his constant broken promises but is torn because she absolutely adores him,” The Sun quoted the pal, as saying.
“Kate has been through her own drug problems and knows the only way he will give up is if he breaks the cycle. If he is away from the guys who feed him drugs then he might have a chance at escaping the hold addiction has on him”.
The pal added that the model was now looking for a house similar to the one she has in the English countryside, only more remote.
“They love escaping to her house in the Cotswolds but Kate wants to get somewhere even more remote than that. If it is her pad she can control who visits and who doesn’t. She says she doesn’t want anyone there except her and Pete,” the pal said.
The thing the junkie rocker is worried about however, is that he will lose his creative streak if he gives up drugs.
“Pete is obsessed that if he gives up drugs he won’t be creative,” the friend revealed.

Supermodel Naomi Campbell has waded into the size zero debate and declared: “Don’t blame the fashion industry.” The Streatham-born beauty said underweight girls on the catwalk were suffering from a psychological illness and were not being pressured into looking skinny.
Speaking at the Elle Style Awards, where she was honoured with the model of the year title, Campbell said: “You can’t blame the industry for a psychological disease. It is a disease, like alcohol or drugs, and the industry is not to blame.”
Campbell praised recent initiatives to ban girls aged under 16 from the catwalk. And she said her agency, IMG, had issued guidelines to make sure girls at fashion shows are well fed and that the backstage area is an alcohol-free zone.
Campbell was fashionably late for the awards at the Roundhouse in Camden, north London. Her car apparently failed to turn up and she had to hail her own taxi…

Radio shock jock Howard Stern once worried on the air that a marriage to longtime supermodel-girlfriend Beth Ostrosky would only mess up a good thing. It seems he’s willing to take the risk.
Stern announced on his satellite radio show on Wednesday that he had proposed the evening before – and Ostrosky had said yes.
Stern told listeners that he surprised the model with an engagement ring while they were naked in bed.
“Are you for real?” he said she responded.
It’s a turnaround for the media maverick, who launched his satellite radio show last year with comments that he was happy to leave things as they were.
“I am not married,” Stern said then. “It’s a nice feeling that we get along great. We’re very happy, and I don’t want to (blank) it up.”
Stern has been married before. He bragged of his marital fidelity while entertaining scores of strippers and porn stars on his previous radio show before splitting from his wife of 21 years in 1999.
Stern and his ex-wife, Alison Berns, whose romance was the basis of his film “Private Parts,” have three daughters. They divorced in 2001.

An Uruguayan fashion model died from apparent malnutrition, just six months after her model elder sister also died from a heart failure caused by malnutrition, local reports said Wednesday.
The woman, identified as Eliana Ramos, 18, was found dead in her home in Montevideo by relatives, television channel Saeta reported. Eliana , who was also known as Elle Ramos, worked for Pancho Dotto Models, a renowned modeling agency in Argentina. Preliminary examinations indicated sudden death caused by malnutrition, the report said.
Friends confirmed that Eliana has suffered for many months after her sister, 22-year-old Luisel Ramos, died of heart failure in August while performing a catwalk show at a Montevideo hotel.
Her death sparked a new debate within the modelling industry over “0-sized” models. Other deaths of models have been reported in Brazil, most recently in November.

She’s so famous, it’s a surprise than she’s not in there already. But Kate Moss has just been granted entry into Madame Tussauds.
The supermodel, clearly keen on the idea of a double, even styled her waxy-likeness herself, in a black dress.
But while most waxworks are spookily twin-like to their subject, we’re not convinced that Kate’s really looks like her that much…
We don’t think there’s any danger of Pete Doherty accidentally snogging the ‘work over Kate, for example.
Then again…
Decide for yourself, either by taking a trip to the London museum, or by hopping up to FMD’s gallery.

TLC has given a green light to an eight-part series starring international supermodel and activist Petra Nemcova. “The Petra Nemcova Project” (working title) will travel the globe in search of undiscovered model talent, who will be brought to New York to audition for potential contracts with Next Model Management. Petra Nemcova will serve as a mentor and friend to the prospective models, as they learn the business of fashion and modeling.
Using her own life experiences, Petra will advise the models on how to succeed in the fashion industry, and will also underscore the importance of having a well-rounded life, including giving back to communities important to each of them. Next will ultimately determine how many of the models deserve a contract with the agency.
Petra Nemcova has taken the fashion industry by storm since she was crowned cover girl of the highly anticipated Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue in 2003. She has appeared in advertising campaigns for high-end brands such as Pantene, Lancaster, Graff, La Perla, Max Factor, Clarins, Cartier, Rampage and most recently, Fortunoff. Petra’s sultry looks have been featured in Vogue, Vanity Fair, ELLE, Harper’s Bazaar, InStyle, Glamour, Cosmopolitan, Ocean Drive and Marie Claire to name a few.
A survivor of the 2004 Asian Tsunami, Nemcova founded the Happy Hearts Fund in 2005 to aid children in need who have suffered loss or hardship as a result of natural, economic or health-related disasters. Happy Hearts has raised over $1.5 million to help children in Thailand, Sri Lanka, Indonesia and Pakistan live healthy, happier lives filled with hope instead of fear.

Supermodel Natalia Vodianova spoke about the role fashion plays in eating disorders at the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) health initiative panel discussion during Fashion Week in New York City.
She spoke first, before any of the panelists, and offered more insight into the problem than any of them could.
“Oscar Wilde once said that to love oneself is the beginning of a lifelong romance,” she said. “But I hope you would agree with me that no relationship comes that easy.
“Perhaps the trickiest and most complex relationship is the one between you and yourself, your body and your mind. Sometimes it’s even possible to be crueler to yourself than you would be to your worst enemy.”
Natalia had gone through a time when she was cruel to herself. She explained that she came from a poor background and grew up thinking of food as what you eat to stay alive. She had no concern about her weight until she became a model in Paris in 2000.
She said the pressure of being ultra-thin, keeping a very busy schedule and modeling for runway shows resulted in a weight of 106 pounds, hair loss and being very nervous and overly sensitive all the time.
She spoke with an accent and was quite eloquent. You could tell that she spoke from the heart. She held the attention of the audience of nearly 200 people from the moment she stood up.As mentioned last week on the WichiTalk blog, CFDA members hope to raise awareness and educate models, their agents, designers and others in the fashion industry about eating disorders.
A committee including a nutritionist, a physician, those in the modeling industry and others developed these recommendations, among others:
• Models identified as having an eating disorder should be required to seek professional help in order to continue modeling.
• Support the well-being of younger individuals by not hiring models under the age of 16 for runway shows, not allowing models under the age of 18 to work past midnight at fittings or shoots, and providing regular breaks and rest.
• Supply healthy meals, snacks and water backstage and at shoots and provide nutrition and fitness education.
• Raise awareness of the impact of smoking and tobacco-related disease among women, ensuring a smoke-free environment, and address underage drinking by prohibiting alcohol.
While all this seems to be a step in the right direction, it was clear the CFDA’s goal is to raise awareness and educate, not police or enforce the guidelines.
In Wichita, I know the people who own and work at the agencies. They’re very aware of a model’s weight. Unhealthy habits and eating disorders are never ignored. Thankfully, the models I’ve worked with on the fashion shoots for The Eagle and for fashion shows know their health comes first.

Supermodel Elle Macpherson is desperate for a man in her life, but is struggling to find anyone who will go out on a date with her. The Australian beauty, who is nicknamed The Body, has been celibate for two years, and is still single despite attempting to chat up guys herself in a bid to get a date.
She moans, “I just don’t get men hitting on me. It’s crazy - but apart from a brief romantic intermission last summer, I have been single and celibate for two years. How boring is that? “I’m a hopeless flirt. I’ll go up to a guy and say, ‘I think you are so beautiful,’ but it doesn’t work.”

Paris Hilton’s impending visit to Vienna is the talk of the town - for all the wrong reasons.
The 25-year-old hotel heiress and part-time model has been invited to the lavish Feb. 15 Opera Ball by Richard Lugner, whose previous guests include Geri Halliwell, Pamela Anderson and Carmen Electra.
Since Lugner, a 74-year-old married construction magnate, announced that Hilton would be his 2007 date, Austrian media have followed her every move, including her no-contest plea to alcohol-related reckless driving and her lawsuit against a website peddling her personal photos, videos and diaries.
Last week, a federal judge in Los Angeles issued a temporary injunction against ParisExposed.com. Hilton has accused the site of exploiting her private personal belongings for commercial gain.
The website claims to have footage of Hilton in a “sexy bubble bath” video and various shots of her in “racy situations.”
“This makes a farce of the Opera Ball,” said Barbara Kroth, a retired real-estate agent who said she always looks forward to the annual affair “because of the quality it represents.”
Lugner dismissed Hilton’s detractors, telling reporters: “Look, there are probably three or four nude photos of me, too, stashed away somewhere.”
The Opera Ball draws about 4,500 well-heeled Austrian and foreign celebrities, dignitaries and socialites. Tickets often sell out months in advance. The ball costs US$280 per person, although with extras such as gowns and tuxedos, flowers, limousines, high-end champagne and lavish dinners, the night typically runs $1,300 or more. Boxes - and Lugner always reserves one - cost $20,700.
Elisabeth Guertler, a Vienna hotelier who oversees the ball, shrugged off the fuss.
“I’ve never asked any other guests what they do in their private lives,” she said.
Hilton has told the Austria Press Agency she just wants to enjoy the magic of the ball. That, and dance.
“I learned the waltz when I was young,” she said. “All I really have to do now is practice my steps.”
