Tyra Banks Recognised By The BET Networks

Tyra Banks and a multitude of leading African American successes have been honored by the BET Networks for their achievements in their fields. Banks, 33, was noted for her fierce contributions and popularity. You go girl!

BET Networks today announced THE BET HONORS, an evening dedicated to recognizing the achievements and contributions of distinguished African American leaders in their fields. THE BET HONORS will celebrate and recognize Alicia Keys (Entertainment), Tyra Banks (Media), Dr. Cornel West (Inspirational/Education), Richard Parsons (Corporate), the Honorable Maxine Waters (Government) and CEO Janice Bryant Howroyd (Entrepreneur).

“We are thrilled to present the first-ever BET HONORS and pay tribute to the thinkers, trailblazers and trendsetters whose accomplishments serve as inspirations for current and future generations,” said Debra Lee, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, BET Networks. “Each of these remarkable individuals has made significant contributions to the Black community and American culture overall, and BET Networks is proud to recognize them through this very special, new tentpole event. We’ve done a number of significant shows in other cities, but what better place to honor these individuals than in our home city of Washington, D.C.”

Paris Hilton Strips Off For New Film

She became an “accidental” film star early in her career, but now socialite and model Paris Hilton is hoping to become a real Hollywood actress. Still, the 26-year-old scandal hasn’t strayed too far away from familiar territory - in one scene from her new film the Hottie And The Nottie, she strips off to just her skimpy lingerie.

In the film, Paris stars as the object of affection for Nate, played by Joel Moore, who’s had a crush on her since primary school. To win her over, he must first find a boyfriend for her less attractive friend. No, it’s not a remake of 10 things I hate About You… ahem.

No word as to whether Miranda Kerr and Eliska Sursova are going to go see the film, though a couple of things suggest both girls might be passing it up. One, would be the raging war between Miranda and Paris of which Eliska remains loyal to her longtime Victoria’s Secret model friend, and two would be that, well, Eliska and Miranda have brains.
