Germany’s Next Topmodel 2008 - Jennifer

Jennifer Hof
Over the last weeks Heidi Klum’s Germany’s Next Topmodel had entertained us every thursday night and tonight’s show was the last of the series.
After the contestants had travelled the world - from Cologne to Barcelona, Salzburg, New York, Australien, Los Angeles - tonight the last three - Jennifer, Christina and Janina gave their very best to make it to the cover of Cosmopolitan, to get an international model contract with IMG, to become the face of a campaign by C&A and besides of their own perfume - to have the chance to start a career in the international model circuit.
15 weeks of castings, 15 weeks of catwalks, 15 weeks of everything that will now be part of the daily life of the winner of tonight’s show.
For the last time in Germany’s Next Topmodel by Heidi Klum 2008 the viewers could encounter all the glamour that surrounds the life of a fashion professional.
Again, descisions had to be made and so Christina was the first one who had to leave and so only Jennifer and Janina were left. Of course tonight’s show contained some music acts like Heidi Klum’s husband Seal, who presented the current hit of his new album.
What didn’t come as a surprise to all those who follow international fashionweeks was the final choice of the jury. At the beginning of the show Heidi already had told the audience - talking about the final winner - that she had grown another centimeter during the 15 weeks of the show and that she now has longer legs than even Nadia Auermann, the long legged German supermodel of the age of super models. Looking like a mixture of Linda Evangelista and Agyness Deyn there could only be one winner.
17 year old Jennifer is Germany’s Next Topmodel 2008 and we are already looking forward to see her at her first official appearance at a fashion week as one of IMG’s models during next month’s Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin.

Bridget Moynahan Muses on Single Motherhood

Bridget MoynahanBridget Moynahan may have wanted to drop-kick her football-playing ex, Tom Brady, when their relationship came to an end while she was pregnant with their first child.
“I’m not sure anyone—and I could be wrong in this—grows up thinking, I want to be a single mom,” the actress reveals in the July issue of Harper’s Bazaar.
But the I, Robot star decided to play out the remaining months of the baby game herself and, in the process, scored a touchdown in the form of a boy named Jack.
“Going through that traumatic time of being heartbroken and then being pregnant turned my whole life upside down and inside out and just knocked the wind out of me,” says Bridget. “But now I have a child, and it’s the best thing in the world.”
As for Jack’s dad, the 37-year-old mom is mum when it comes to discussing him.
“There’s no reason why my son, years down the line, would need to read anything [personal] about his mother or his father,” she insists.
Score one for Team Moynahan.
And a team it is indeed, as Bridget points out when discussing her social life. “It’s brought higher-quality people into my life because whoever is going to be [with me] understands straight off the bat it’s a package.”

Our Emma wows fashionistas

Emma Ishta BRISBANE model Emma Ishta is being hailed as the next Miranda Kerr after a successful week modelling for some of the country’s top designers at Rosemount Australian Fashion Week in Sydney.
The stunning 17-year-old was accepted to study at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music this year but declined in favour of pursuing her modelling career.
“Ultimately I want to be a musician but right now I want to concentrate on modelling while the opportunities are there,” she said.
The former St Aidans student has been seen in several top shows during fashion week and has also been named as the face of the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival in Brisbane. She will return to her home town in August to take up that role.
Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival director Lindsay Bennett said Ishta was the perfect choice, offering not just her physical beauty, but also a host of accomplishments that were an inspiration to other young women.
“Emma is the quintessential whole package – that rare mix of beauty, intelligence, ability and vivaciousness – and we’re absolutely delighted to have her as our face for the 2008 festival,” Mr Bennett said.
He also said the skinny and underage models debate that had plagued Fashion Week in Sydney would not be an issue at the Brisbane festival.
“We have a thorough casting process and a policy that all models have to be 16 and over.”
