Brazil fashion show looks for new supermodel

Isabeli Fontana
With Gisele Bundchen absent from the Rio de Janeiro catwalk this season, many journalists and fashionistas have been asking themselves who the new face of Fashion Rio 2008 is.
Supermodel Isabeli Fontana has been heralded as one of the models to watch. She opened the show for Salinas swimwear collection, showed Cavendish, and Catao among others.
Fashion Rio coordinator and organiser Eloysa Simao said Fontana looks “better than ever.”
The Curitiba native, who made her return to the Rio runway after the birth of her second child and a long hiatus, has been featured in the magazines, Sports Illustrated, Elle, and Marie Claire. On top of that Fontana has graced the pages of Victoria’s Secret catalogue for the last ten years.
But the “it” girl of the season seems to be 19-year-old Emanuela de Paula, who “Tudo de Bom!” magazine called the “new star.”
The Northeastern native from Pernambuco state, who is also a Victoria’s Secret “angel,” modelled exclusively for swim wear brand Salinas this season.

Political trends fail to impress Claudia Schiffer

Claudia Schiffer
Given that her husband, Matthew Vaughn, has already directed a promotional broadcast for the Conservatives, for whom he works as a “creative consultant”, Claudia Schiffer, pictured, would seem a natural choice to offer David Cameron and his colleagues a few fashion tips.
The German supermodel tells Mandrake that she believes image has, however, become too important in politics.
“I don’t think style, for instance dress sense, should be important to a politician,” she said at a reception for Graduate Fashion Week, at Earls Court in London. “There is far too much emphasis on appearance and the exterior at the moment in politics.”
Mandrake urges her to speak to Charlie Falconer, the former Lord Chancellor, who I spotted wearing faded jeans and a pair of garish lime-green trainers at a theatre this week.

Time to go, Agyness: Messy Miss Deyn dragged out of club after fourth night of partying

Agyness Deyn
It was her fourth night out in a row and she could barely stand up, but Agyness Deyn was still reluctant to go home after her latest party session this morning.
The face of Giorgio Armani was taken of Soho club Punk at 4am by two helpful friends, despite her protests to carry on the fun.

A dishevelled Deyn, 25, was sporting a new tattoo of an umbrella with the words Long May She Rain underneath, as well as love hearts with names of her friends scrawled across her chest as she emerged from the venue.
On closer inspection it was clear they were drawn on with marker pen.
The night out marked the end of a busy week of wild nights out for the popular model.
On Monday night, she party hopped across East London, stopping in at private members’ club Shoreditch House before moving on to new night spot Village Underground with her designer pal Henry Holland.
By Tuesday she was singing up a storm – and falling on the floor – at the Karaoke Box in Farringdon.
Then last night, she was stepped out to play judge at Graduate Fashion Week’s gala event.
Her penchant for late night partying coincides with reports she has split from her boyfriend of four years Josh Hubbard of band The Paddingtons.

Orlando Bloom caught `dirty dancing` with girl friend!

Miranda Kerr Orlando Bloom cuddled up with supermodel girlfriend Miranda Kerr on the dance floor at the third annual Raisa Gorbachev Foundation Party held in London recently.
Held at the Stud House, Hampton Court Palace in Richmond upon Thames, London, England, the party saw the lovebirds jiving and grooving with each other. The two gave the others present at the party enough to talk about. Their sultry moves were much more than mere dancing! The couple seemed so engrossed into each other that they snubbed the rest of crowd, making sure that nothing could come between the two.
The party was attended by many Hollywood bigwigs like Kate Beckinsale, Hugh Grant, Kevin Spacey and Joan Collins. U2 frontman Bono also treated gala attendees with a performance.
