SHE picked on her housemates and was told she was too fat for the catwalk, but teenager Demelza Reveley has been crowned Australia’s Next Top Model.
The 16-year-old from Wollongong relied on the viewer’s vote to win the Fox 8 reality show after the panel of fashionista judges failed to reach a decision among themselves.
Three of the six backed Demelza and three wanted Sydney girl Alexandra Girdwood to take the title.
The winner picked up a modelling contract with make-up king Napoleon Perdis, a spread in Australian Vogue and chance to strut their stuff on catwalks around the world.
Demelza had faced a storm of criticism for bullying a rival model earlier in the show, but she saw her standing soar when designer Alex Perry told her she needed to lose inches off her hips.
But Byron Bay beauty Alamela Rowan, 17, who was pelted with water bombs, had a bucket of water tipped over her head and was subjected to other taunts and attacks by Demelza, said she shouldn’t have been allowed to reach the final.
Alamela’s dad Peter told Confidential that Demelza, the self-named “bitchketeer” should have been instantly removed.
He said his daughter had been “gagged” and told she couldn’t tell her story on a current affairs program about what she has called “one of the worst times of my life”.
Meanwhile, fans of the reality modelling show would have noticed host Jodhi Meares missing from last night’s live broadcast.
Jodhi, who was criticised for stumbling through last year’s live final, opted to instead pre-record some segments.

Ambassador for British cool – Agyness Deyn is to be the new face of Shiseido. The Japanese makeup brand has dropped Angelina Jolie and announced that Agyness will be their new face for the autumn/winter 2008-9 Maquillage campaign.
Angelina Jolie will be stepping down as the brand ambassador after enjoying two years fronting the campaign. As beautiful as Angelina is, Agyness has an undeniably edgier and younger appeal that is well suited to the cutting-edge brand.
As well as making her musical debut recently, singing vocals on “Who” with the Five O’Clock Heroes, Agyness told NME that she’s formed her own band called Gene Jacket. Add her impressive modelling CV, which includes campaigns for Burberry and Jean Paul Gaultier, and she’s obviously on a roll. Keep up the good work, Agie!

Petra Nemcova is introduced as the new spokesperson for German mail order house Otto at the company’s headquarter in Hamburg, Germany on Monday.
The 29-year-old supermodel and founder of The Happy Hearts Fund donated more than 150 computers and other educational technology equipment to The Andrew H. Wilson Charter Elementary School in the Broadmoor section of New Orleans last week.
“While the Happy Hearts Fund has provided children and schools in disaster-stricken, underprivileged communities with computers around the globe, the Andrew H. Wilson Charter School is the first recipient in New Orleans, and in the U.S.,” said Nemcova.
“It’s evident that after disaster strikes, once the cameras disappear, so does much of the help. Each and every one of these students is a survivor of Hurricane Katrina, and we hope that by supporting them, not only will their lives and educational opportunities improve, but also those of future Wilson School students,” she said.
