Naomi Campbell thinks the age of the supermodels is over.
Campbell, one of the original “supermodels” herself, says the only model that could currently be classified as “super” is Brazil’s Gisele Bundchen, according to Sunday Mirror.
“Kate Moss is obviously a supermodel but after Gisele, I don’t think there’s been one,” she says.
Campbell is not alone in her opinion - even Claudia Schiffer has said in the past that supermodels are on the decline.
“I think the term ’supermodel’ gets thrown around too much nowadays,” Campbell says. “Models need to earn their stripes - I just think the term is used a little too loosely.”
Campbell also wrote about her upcoming autumn Fashion For Relief charity runway. She says pal Kate Moss won’t be participating. “Kate hasn’t walked down the catwalk for years,” she says. “She never really liked the shows so I won’t be pushing her to do it this time around. But it’ll be a brilliant do and I cannot wait.”
Campbell added that after her recent arrest, she turned to Victoria Beckham for support.
“I speak to Victoria pretty regularly about normal mundane stuff. When I was going through my hard time recently she was immediately on the phone, asking me how I was doing and saying, ‘I hope you’re well.’ She was very sweet,” says Campbell.
She added, “We share girl stuff and she is so funny - people just don’t know her or get her. She also works incredibly hard - that girl works her a** off. And she’s a mother of three - that can’t be easy. I really love Victoria and David Beckham.”

From Gisele Bundchen to Heidi Klum, sexy US lingerie company Victoria’s Secret has a history of signing up the hottest models.
And Australian Miranda Kerr has taken an early lead in The Sun’s vote for the hottest VS girl of all.
At the last count, the Brisbane girl was in the lead with 22 per cent of the vote, with Brazilian bombshell Gisele Bundchen hot on her heels on 19 per cent.
The lingerie giant’s latest clothes horse is another Brazilian beauty, Izabel Goulart.
The sexy swimwear-sporting supermodel even boasts about how Brazilian babes like to show themselves off.
She told Arena Magazine: “Brazilian girls find it easier modelling lingerie and bathing suits because were more comfortable with our bodies.”

Kate Moss and her rocker boyfriend Jamie Hince have flown out to a secret location in a bid to save their relationship.
The couple have been on rocky ground recently with Jamie moving his possessions out of the supermodel’s plush home.
But after a brief reconciliation in London, they’re taking a quiet break to talk things over.
A source tells us: “Jamie and Kate are mad about each other.
“But they’ve been a bit edgy lately and a little break on their own is just what they need to get things back on track.”

Supermodel Petra Nemcova was spotted passionately smooching a mystery man at a club in the south of France last night.
The gorgeous 29-year-old and her male admirer got up close and personal in the VIP Room club in St Tropez..
And they certainly didn’t seem to care who saw them as they kissed on a balcony overlooking the dancefloor.
Czech Petra ended her relationship with singer James Blunt last year.
She set tongues wagging at the Oscars in February after she arrived arm-in-arm with actor Sean Penn, 47, who was then temporarily separated from his wife of 11 years Robin Wright Penn.
The 2004 tsumani survivor was previously engaged to British photographer Simon Atlee, who died tragically in the disaster.
