THE new face of department store David Jones, Miranda Kerr, has refused to wage war on her rival spokesmodel, Myers’ Jennifer Hawkins.
Meeting the press in Melbourne in her new role yesterday, she issued a no comment on the topic of her Hollywood beau Orlando Bloom, but did weigh in on the so called “store wars”.
“With regards to Jen - good luck to her,” Kerr said.
“I think (the store wars) are silly to be honest with you … I’m sure she’s a lovely girl. She seems really nice … I think it was silly, the whole Megan (Gale) versus Jen thing. I don’t buy into it.”
Kerr also spoke on another perennial debate - Melbourne versus Sydney.
“I think it’s a great city,” she said of Melbourne.
“The culture down here is a lot different to Sydney. It’s a bit more sophisticated. The coffee’s great down here, too.”

Supermodel Kate Moss has been booted-off a best-dressed list.
Her rival, statuesque former chip shop worker Agyness Deyn, 25, tops the latest who’s who of fashion.
Deyn is followed by Gwyneth Paltrow, who recently wowed onlookers at a series of premieres in short dresses and skyscraper heels, in the Grazia list.
Sarah Jessica Parker is third, despite being ridiculed for the eccentric green hat she donned to the premiere of the Sex and the City film.
French President’s wife Carla Bruni-Sarkozy is next, followed by model Daisy Lowe, actress Maggie Gyllenhaal, and model Elle Macpherson and actress Uma Thurman in joint seventh.
The top ten is completed by actresses Natalie Portman and Kate Hudson and Dasha Zhukova, Roman Abramovich’s girlfriend.
Moss was fifth and Deyn was Number One in last year’s list compiled by a Grazia panel.
Grazia Editor Jane Bruton said: “Agyness Deyn had to take the crown. Her influentially eclectic look, trailblazing ability to segue between style personalities and pure fashion nous has had us captivated for months.”

Danish supermodel Helena Christensen, who likes to spend time behind and in front of the camera, says she has been asked by Swedish fashion firm Odd Molly to be the photographer for its next campaign. Christensen was among the celebrities attending the world premiere on Friday of Odd Molly’s spring/summer 2009 collection at Copenhagen Fashion Week, including the newest member of Denmark’s royal family, Princess Marie.
Christensen, who has staged exhibitions of her photographic work and whose pictures have appeared in glossy magazines, is Odd Molly’s model for the latest campaign and plans to swap roles for the next one.
“They have asked if I would like to do that next time so I’ll be doing that next year,” she told Reuters after the show.
Odd Molly’s quirky, Bohemian flavour has an ardent admirer in Christensen. “It’s something I can identify myself with. I have a style which is very similar to theirs,” she said.
The French-born Princess Marie, who married Denmark’s Prince Joachim in May, also appears to be a fan — the Odd Molly show at Copenhagen’s Hotel d’Angleterre was the only one she attended during the fashion week.
