IT wasn’t quite stacking it down the stairs or exposing a G-string, but Jennifer Hawkins wouldn’t be Hawko without just one customary fashion faux pas.
The revolving circular stage proved a tad tricky for the Myer maven during the retail giant’s fashion show finale last night, causing Hawkins to twist her heel and briefly lose her balance as she left the catwalk.
And despite displaying a taut and toned bod which would have made David Beckham envious, Mr Myer, Jake Wall, appeared to have traded his model hat for that of burgeoning film star - fidgeting nervously and looking downwards as he hit the runway sans shirt.
However, it was the night that Hawkins got down to business - and she did have extra reason to be nervous.
Not only was she launching the Myer Spring/Summer Collection - but also debuting her fashion label, writes Jen Melocco, Fashion Editor.
The former Miss Universe, model and TV presenter is now hoping to add budding designer to her burgeoning CV with the unveiling of Cozi by Jennifer Hawkins.
“I was nervous but there was also an adrenalin rush,” Hawkins said after the launch at the Entertainment Quarter last night.
Hawkins was simply stunning when she modelled a Mad Cortes marble print maxi gown, created by Sydney mum of toddler twins Mira Vukovic.
But Hawkins didn’t let the chance to mix business with pleasure slip by - strutting the catwalk in bold bikinis she helped create and that range in price from $49.95 to $129.
“I really wanted bold colours and yellow is just a colour I associate with summer,” she said of the bikinis.
In a fitting finale, Hawkins turned heads in a stunning hot red corsetted Camilla & marc gown.
After one of the toughest winters in retail, which saw Myer going into sale mode a month early, the department store hosted a superb but smaller scale show compared with past spectaculars.
Also on show last night were latest designs by Leona Edmiston, Wayne Cooper, Bettina Liano and Toni Maticevski.
And for one last look at Hawko’s famous wardrodbe malfunctions, check the below video.

Is the uber highest paid supermodel-out-there Gisele Bündchen moving to Los Angeles? TMZ seems to think so as they have obtained documents that her boyfriend, NFL New England Patriots star Tom Brady, has bought an $11 million 3-acre property (no house, just land) on Arnold Schwarzenegger’s street in Brentwood.
But so far, Bündchen is often seen with Brady when he visits New York City. It’s not like he’s gotten her to move in with her to the New England area. Reportedly, the LA move is to get closer to his kid and ex-wife, actor Bridget Moynahan. Brady is originally from Northern California.

Giving birth to her first baby on Sunday, August 24, Alessandra Ambrosio is wasting no time to cash in on her infant’s pictures. It’s been claimed that the Victoria’s Secret angel is attempting to sell the first pictures of her newborn daughter, Anja Louise Ambrosio Mazur, to several weekly publications in the U.S.
The New York Post broke the news Tuesday, August 26. It even quoted a source close to the model’s camp as saying that Ambrosio would probably donate some of the profits from the sales of her baby’s pics to the Multiple Sclerosis Children’s Fund.
Ambrosio gave birth to Anja in Brazil. She confirmed the arrival of her baby to People magazine, saying “To all of our family and friends, we are pleased to announce that our little princess Anja Louise Ambrosio Mazur was born on Sunday Aug 24 at 7:32 P.M. She is 6.3 lbs. and absolutely perfect.”
Anja is the first child of Ambrosio and her longtime boyfriend Jamie Mazur, a California businessman. The pair reportedly have been dating since 2005. She broke her pregnancy for public to know back in March.

Victoria’s Secret models Doutzen Kroes and Adriana Lima were all smiles at the company’s flagship store in New York for the launch of Supermodel Obsessions.
Both of the Angels looked stylish and comfortable - Lima in a tan coloured flowy summer dress, while Kroes opted for a silver and black above-the-knee cocktail dress.
They kept their look casual by pairing the dresses with open-toed flats.
Supermodel Obsessions is a collection of covetable underwear and sleepware.
And the good news? You don’t have to head to the US to get the collection as the company delivers worldwide - including New Zealand.

She’s been immortalised in bronze, painted in oils and photographed all over the world.
Now Kate Moss - fashion icon, mother and long time paparazzi favourite - has been paid the kind of compliment normally reserved for Egyptian queens and mythological goddesses. She has been sculpted in gold.
A new statue of the controversial model is to unveiled at the British museum for an exhibition in October.
The 34-year-old will join some of the nation’s other great treasures, including a centuries old statue of a naked Aphrodite, on loan from the Queen.
This is the first teasing glimpse of the ?1.5million likeness of Kate, one of a series by Marc Quinn, the artist responsible for the ‘Alison Lapper Pregnant’ sculpture that adorned the Fourth Plinth in Trafalgar Square for 20 months.
The museum released only a detail of the Kate Moss work in the hope that the full image could remain private until its unveiling.
The statue, entitled ‘Siren’, depicts her in a yoga contortion. If it follows the theme of his previous Kate Moss works, it will place her feet somewhere near her ears and leave various other bits of her leotard-clad body inelegantly exposed to public gaze.
The statue is said to be the largest of its kind since ancient Egyptian times. It is fashioned from solid gold. But because the statue is hollow, it weighs only 50 kilograms (110 lb) - possibly a little more than the waif-like subject on which it is modelled.
The ?1.5million estimated value is believed to relate only to fabrication costs, financed between the artist and his gallery, White Cube. But the sculpture is certain to be worth far more if it is ever sold.
Moss has already proved irresistible to a succession of artists, including Lucian Freud, whose nude portrait of her sold for ?3.9million in 2005.
Two years ago Quinn exhibited a painted bronze statue of Moss with her legs and arms knotted above her head. (Kate didn’t do the yoga pose herself, incidentally - it was performed by a stand-in and her features were sculpted in later).
Quinn expressed a fascination with the ‘mystery’ of someone who had captured ‘the spirit of the age’, as he phrased it.
He believed her difficulties with the law - she escaped charges despite being videoed snorting a white powdered substance - made her image ‘more potent’.
Yesterday the Croydon-born star - whose curves were on full display in Quinn’s previous works and left precious little mystery for the spectator - appeared in an unconnected series of raunchy poses for a magazine photo-shoot.
She was quoted as saying she adores boobs and thinks breast implants sported by some of her friends are ‘awful’.
The statue is to go on show at the British Museum from October 4 to January 25 as part of its ‘Statuephilia’ exhibition. The display is designed ‘to highlight the perennial potency of sculpture’ by showcasing the work of contemporary British artists, including Damien Hirst and Antony Gormley.

SUPERMODEL Naomi Campbell’s new boyfriend has splashed out on a ?10m penthouse apartment for her in Brazil.
Russian property billionaire Vladislav Doronin, 46, made the lavish gesture as a “gift” for the fiery British supermodel, 38.
The exclusive apartment is located in the Upper east Side of Sao Paolo in Jardins.
The pair met in Cannes in May, but Doronin has already fallen for the leggy stunner – and they are now set to make the pad their home.
A source revealed: “Naomi told Vladimir how much she loved Brazil and that she really wanted to settle down there. So he bought her the apartment, and said it was a gift for her. They will use it as their base when they are in Brazil together.
“Vlad is one of the richest property developers in Russia and there is never any expense spared when it comes to having a good time.”
Naomi and Vlad’s whirlwind romance has already seen them flash the cash.
Last month Vlad flew Naomi to Moscow’s Vnukovo 3 airport – normally used by government officials - in a private jet. And she enjoyed a ?1,700 dinner with friends, then spent the night in the ?10,000-a-night presidential suite of a local swanky hotel.
But property mogul Vlad, who has a ?1.5bn fortune, went one better recently when the couple stayed in a ?27,000-a-day beach house in Bahia, north east Brazil.

THERE was a revolving catwalk, a 2m-high custom-built sun, and Australia’s golden girl next door, Jennifer Hawkins.
This was Myer’s latest attack in the notorious “store wars”, and the result was no featherweight effort.
Last night, in front of a 500-strong crowd, the department chain unveiled its Spring/Summer ‘09 Collection in Sydney’s Byron Kennedy Hall.
Dubbed “Here Comes the Sun”, the launch was Myer’s right of reply to retail rival David Jones, which earlier this month wheeled out the big guns with a Rio-themed campaign starring supermodel Miranda Kerr.
Myer’s bankable blonde beauty, who led a 30-minute cavalcade of 52 clotheshorses, said the event was the highlight of her busy year.
“I only get to do the launches once a season and it is always a privilege to bring the best in Australian fashion to Australian shoppers,” Hawkins said.
“Being a beach girl, I love summer fashion . . . and, like all girls, dressing up in amazing gowns is so much fun.”
Hawkins, 24, opened the extravaganza in a frilled swimsuit, just as Kerr, 25, did for rival David Jones.
Myer director of apparel Judy Coomber said this season was about fun and comfort.
Today, Hawkins will unveil a swimwear line, Cozi, at Myer’s Sydney city store.

“There’s no one else out there who looks like her. She personifies joie de vivre. She can reflect what the designer wants but give it her own personality.” ~ Anna Sui, designer.
Japan’s uber-popular clothing brand, Moussy, just launched their new Autumn/Winter 2008 campaign! Model, It-girl, and fashion icon Agyness Deyn (pronounce “Dean”) was featured in the ad. The collection is straight out of LA’s 80’s punk rock scene and seems inspired by Deyn’s own wardrobe. The 5’10” British model first made a name for herself in 2006 and has exploded onto the fashion scene ever since. During the 2007 British Fashion Awards, she was named “Model of the Year”. She’s been on every sought-after magazine cover and runway show while signing lucrative advertising deals from Burberry to Galliano to Hugo Boss.

Known for her unique and quirky style, cropped bleach blond hair, and Madonna-esq dark brows, this model-of-the-moment is being heralded as the next Kate Moss. As you know those are big shoes to fill and I’m not so sure that any other model can pull it off. On the other hand, if anyone could do it, it might just be Agyness. Her androgynous physic and daring personal taste is a refreshing change from the Gisele’s of the world. I love Gisele, and she’s stunning but Agyness has that j’ne sais quoi that elevates her to a different level. I can’t wait to see what else this hipster-fashionista accomplishes, and I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for her on the runways during New York Fashion Week! ~ Maria Denardo
