Supermodel GISELE BUNDCHEN is to front a new advertising campaign for cosmetics giant Max Factor to celebrate its forthcoming centenary.
The Brazilian beauty signed on as spokesmodel this week (begs01Sep08), and Max Factor bosses insist her appointment was a “no-brainer”.
Associate marketing director Bruce Katsman says, “She’s the image of our high fashion consumer.
“It’s not so much about her look, per se. She’s rocked the runway so she’s perceived as a great canvas. We think she does the same thing for makeup.”
Gisele is delighted to be a part of Max Factor’s 100th birthday celebrations, which will kick off next year (09).
She says, “I thought it was really cool to be a part of something so old. I can’t believe something can exist for that long. For a business to stay alive for that long, it must be really good.”
And the star ponders her own future, adding, “Imagine what I’d look at 100 years old?!”

Kate Moss made an impromptu return to the catwalk for the first time in five years on Tuesday night.
The model grabbed a top hat and cane from backstage and strutted down the runway as she attended the House Of Blue Eyes fashion launch.
Boyfriend Jamie Hince, 39, looked on as Kate, 34, completely entranced the audience at London’s Bush Hall.
She even playfully lashed host Beth Ditto, 27, with the cane as she launched into her catwalk masterclass.
‘Kate was jumping about asking to model,’ a source tells The Sun. ‘You’d have thought it was her first time.
‘But the crowd knew this was something special.’
Kate has not graced the catwalk since September 2003.

Gisele, who is known throughout the beauty industry as an astute businesswoman, last year, insisted on being paid in any other currency but the US dollar.

For an at-a-glance guide to the stars who embody British style, look no further than photographer Mary McCartney’s upcoming portrait exhibition.
Featuring candid portraits of her friends and family - trend-setters such as Kate Moss, model Lily Cole and Mary’s sister, Stella McCartney - the rare studies of the modern day Britpack offer a compelling, and at times, voyeuristic glimpse into the private world of the English A-list.

The celebrity subjects, pictured here in exclusive footage taken by Sir Paul’s daughter, have been chosen to star in the series of photographs – entitled ‘British style observed.’
For Kate Moss, it would seem nothing says typically English more than a jar of traditional Branston pickle - along with a packet of Jacob’s cream crackers.
The supermodel offers up the classic snack as only a supermodel can - vamping it up with a sultry gaze and diaphanous dress.

The picture is sure to fetch a tidy sum as Kate’s previous portrait, painted by renowned artist Lucian Freud in 2005, sold at auction for a hefty ?3.93m.
Stella McCartney however, makes for a strong contender, proving anything Kate can do, she can do too. The designer, 36, gives Mary some sisterly support and provides another quintessentially British backdrop as she poses on one of her beloved horses.
Model Lily Cole, 20, reveals nothing more than a glimpse of her rosy cheek and signature fiery hair as a clue to her identity as she waves the flag for the UK in a dramatic black hat.

But if Kate and Co. are the princesses of our nation’s fashion scene, then surely Dame Vivienne Westwood reigns queen.
The designer, 67, largely responsible for bringing modern punk and new wave into the mainstream, has represented Brit fashion since the Seventies and by the looks of her animated portrait, shows little sign of slowing down.

The collection also includes a host of hot celebs, such as veteran actress Dame Helen Mirren and contemporary artist Sam Taylor Wood. This is not the first time Sam has teamed up with Mary, as she bared all for the photographer last year following her battle with two cancers.
Sam, 40, who is known for depicting her own body in her work, does the same again in a somewhat eccentric pose, getting up-close-and personal with an inflatable doll.

Mary, a photographer like her mother Linda, is selling the images to raise money in aid of MacMillan Cancer Support.
She said: “Losing my mother prematurely has had a profound impact on my life in that it has made me appreciate the people around me.
“As a photographer herself, she was my inspiration. I remember looking through her contact sheets as a child and being fascinated. Our styles are similar.”
Visitors to the event website will be able to view and purchase the portraits on-line until the end of October.
Six of the photographs will also be auctioned in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support at a special gala party at the Natural History Museum, attended by stars such as Elle Macpherson, Yasmin Le Bon, Kate Moss - and of course, the McCartney family.
