IT takes some woman to overshadow Elle Macpherson, but Queen Rania of Jordan managed to do just that during a UN push to end global poverty this week.
The Body was at the side of the Middle Eastern royal, as well as UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon, adding her celebrity name to a campaign to halve the number of people suffering in the world by 2015.
Dressed in jeans, a campaign T-shirt and feather jacket, the Aussie supermodel was out-styled by the diplomatically designer-clad Queen Rania.
But it wasn’t a parade of fashion but fashionable types that helped raise the profile of the worthy cause, with Black Eyed Peas frontman will.i.am belting out a song he penned called In My Name.
Pledging their names to the wall opposite the UN headquarters in New York were Aussie singers John Butler and Missy Higgins.

American actor George Clooney is said to be smitten with his ex-girlfriend, English supermodel Lisa Snowdon, after watching her perform on Strictly Come Dancing.
The two have been good friends ever since they split up a long time ago, but it seems that the Tango Snowdon performed is pulling Clooney back to her.
Clooney, who has been single ever since splitting up with Sarah Larson in May, has gone so far as to send Snowdon flowers, cards and texts.
Prior to the show starting, George sent Lisa a ”good luck” text”. It was the first time they”d had any contact for some time. Lisa was pretty amazed but assumed that would be the last of it, the Mirror quoted a source as saying.
Instead, after the show George sent her another text, this one was along the lines of ”Wow! the source stated.
Rumours are rife that the 47-year-old actor might even turn up to watch his ex perform.
Tomorrow Lisa and Brendan Cole are dancing the salsa and all eyes will be on them – including George’’s, the source said.
He has promised to send a bouquet to her dressing room and the talk backstage is he may make a surprise appearance in London in the coming weeks.
Now that he’’s single, gossip is spreading like wildfire that he wants to woo Lisa back.
Obviously everyone is desperate for Lisa to stay in the competition – if only for a glimpse of George! the source added.

HEARTBREAK makes messes of us all – even Kate Moss.
Granted, she’s the prettiest tired and emotional woman we’ve ever seen.
But the 34-year-old is clearly feeling the pain over her split from Jamie Hince, 39.
So much so that we hear the devastated supermodel is desperate to work through their problems and reunite with The Kills rocker as soon as possible.
But that’s not too easy at the moment, with the Atlantic Ocean acting as a bastard, watery barrier as Jamie tours in the US.
And with him in LA, which is eight hours behind us, the time difference isn’t helping.
Out on Thursday night in London, poor old Kate hasn’t quite been capable of lucid conversation.
Our source on the sauce, told us: “Kate was drinking to try to blot out the heartbreak and take her mind off missing Jamie.
“She ended up getting herself into a right state – very publicly, too.”
Our mole added: “Kate tried to call Jamie. They’ve spoken a few times and agreed to meet and work things out when he gets home – but this time she couldn’t get hold of him.
“The time difference is a nightmare but it still devastated Kate. She clearly loves him enough to make it work.”
Our hearts truly go out to the poor lamb.

A self-portrait by British supermodel Kate Moss, drawn with lipstick and marked with her lip prints, failed to sell at auction on Saturday, said the auction house Lyon & Turnbull.
“The highest bid was 25,000 pounds (31,500 euros, 50,000 dollars), which was below the reserve price” of 40,000 pounds, a spokesman for Lyon & Turnbull told AFP.
Moss, 34, had created the work of art while in a troubled past relationship with British musician Pete Doherty.
The canvas portrait also features stains of blood belonging to rocker Doherty, who in addition has inscribed the words: “Who needs blood when you’ve got lipstick?”
The Babyshambles frontman and recovering heroin addict had sold the lipstick self-portrait to an anonymous buyer who in turn put it up for auction.
