Daughter of F1 boss poses half-nude for PETA
With Canada’s Grand Prix on the ropes for next year and F1 supremodel Bernie Ecclestone in the doghouse nationwide for his role in booting Montreal off the 2009 schedule, it’s difficult to accept the fact that the man has also done some very good things during his tenure. Three very good things, actually: one daughter being Deborah, the other Tamara and the last Petra.
The middle child, or more accurately the first child with current spouse Slavica, isn’t a fashion magnate like Petra, but nevertheless the model and TV personality does a pretty good job of attracting attention when wrapped in a checkered flag. Tamara donned the flag and nothing else to support People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) in an anti-fur campaign, posing for a series of print ads with the slogan “Going fur-free is the winning formula.”
The idea isn’t new, as other celebrities have posed for PETA showing even less “flag”, or “wing” in the case of supermodel Natasja Vermeer who posed nude other than very long locks and a set of angel wings on her backside with the tagline “Earn Your Wings, Lose the Fur”. Even actress Alicia Silverstone (Batman & Robin, Clueless) posed nude for still and video camera to promote vegetarianism, a topic “Live Free or Die Hard” and “Mission: Impossible III” star Maggie Q took on (or rather, took off) for PETA.
Meanwhile, Eva Mendes posed nude for PETA’s holiday ad campaign, “I’d Rather Go Naked than Wear Fur.” Actress Christina Applegate went naked for a PETA ad too, as a faux lesbian stripper. Yes, that one pretty well takes the cake.
Less racy but still nude was sexy supermodel, actress and spokesperson for Dollhouse Clothing Joanna Krupa, while US Olympic swimming gold medalist Amanda Beard took less of it off for the animals.
One of the best-known photos was of Baywatch star Traci Bingham’s back and derriere sectioned off (with body paint) into cuts of meat, promoting vegetarianism, while one of the more interesting was “Queen of Porn” Jenna Jameson’s ad promoting animal birth control dubbed “Sometimes Too Much Sex Can Be a Bad Thing.”
Comparatively conservative, “Dancing with the Stars” judge Carrie Ann Inaba recently put on fishnets and posed with her black Persian cat Shadow to promote neutering and spaying pets, while others have done risqué ads for PETA to promote animal rights including supermodel Christie Turlington, Charlotte Ross from NYPD Blue, ousted American Idol star Vanessa Olivarez, Playboy model Holly Madison and star of “The Girls Next Door” (not a big stretch for her), Puerto Rican lovely Roselyn Sanchez (Without a Trace), British actress (and ex-wife of Jude Law) Sadie Frost, Australian actress and singer Sophie Monk, Australian actress/singer Imogen Bailey, Australian model and actress Annalise Braakensiek, actress Carre Otis (Wild Orchid), who is one of the few showing top-up frontal nudity, and Twin Peaks star Sheryl Lee, caged and painted like a tiger.
Have any guys gotten in on the PETA action? Yes they have, some of the most noteworthy being hoops star Denis Rodman (orange hair and all), actor David Cross (in a humorous pose), and celebrity tattoo artist Steve’0 Hennagir.
F1 stars Michael Schumacher and brother Ralf, plus Honda driver Jensen Button haven’t posed al fresco for PETA yet, but they have joined Tamara in the cause by denouncing fur for clothing.
As far as scantily clad Formula 1 personalities go, Tamara brings a new level of class to a motorsport series still trying to get beyond the image of FIA boss Max Mosley and five prostitutes caught on tape while playing out sadomasochistic Nazi fantasies. Thank you, Tamara.
