Who said Naomi Campbell wasn’t a do-gooder? The supermodel, who has been gracing catwalks, ad campaigns and magazine editorials for the best part of 20 years, has decided to donate one of her favourite Birkin bags for charity.
The green alligator skin bag is just one of the lots up for grabs during this annual event, which raises money for The White Ribbon Alliance for Safe Motherhood (WRA). This charity looks after pregnant women all over the world and is supported by many high-profile women such as Carla Bruni and Prime Minister’s wife Sarah Brown, who is the Global Patron of the charity
In April this year Campbell was honoured as Global Ambassador to the WRA, after the work she did in 2008 to help promote the charity. She held a charity catwalk show called Fashion for Relief, which helped to attract new supporters to the cause and raised funds for mothers and newborn babies around the world.
Now Campbell is donating a much-coveted Birkin from her own collection to once again help the cause. The price of a Birkin starts at around ?3,500, and can reach six times that if made from an exotic skin.
In past years, Jane Birkin, after whom the tote was named, contributed one of her Birkins as did Princess Stephanie of Monaco who donated a bag that belonged to her mother, Grace Kelly to the Herm?s auction.
The Herm?s vintage sale will take place on the 10 November and is not to be missed!

Since her return from the bright lights of New York a month back, homesickness is no longer an issue for Malaysia’s own Amber Chia (pic).
“I’m very happy to be back, New York was amazing but I did miss home,” said the 28-year-old supermodel.
Chia was in the Big Apple undergoing an acting course at the New York Film Academy.
“During my time there I also managed to go for castings. Most of the models there are so tall but as long as you have the confidence, you’ll stand a chance too. I believe that New York can be a good market for me”.
Come fall, Chia hopes to go back to New York for Fashion Week where she will be vying for more spots on the runway.
“If you never try, you’ll never know. In February this year, I managed to do two shows during Fashion Week, one for Victoria Beckham and the other Farah Angsana, a Paris-based designer,” the pouty-beauty enthused. Now that she’s back on Malaysian soil, Chia has been a regular face at events taking place around the city.
“The industry people are still as supportive and I’m really thankful and happy to be working with familiar faces again,” she said, adding that she looks forward to spending time with her family too.
As for matters of the heart, Chia said her current schedule does not permit her any time for love. She will be heading off to Hong Kong soon, where she is set to work in two upcoming movies.
“However I do believe in fate and if the time comes, I just might give it all up for love. Love is blind after all. “For now, I’m just going to enjoy being single and it goes well with my lifestyle now because I’m a workaholic!”

French President Nicolas Sarkozy and wife Carla Bruni have been splashing out more than ?660 a day on flowers.
The super-rich couple also used taxpayers’ money to settle ?3,000 worth of fines for late payment of electricity and gas bills.
Their extravagant ?241,000 annual florists’ bill – despite the recession- was exposed in presidential accounts for 2008.
The president’s third wife, former supermodel turned singer Miss Bruni, is often seen arranging big vases of flowers inside the Elysee Palace.
Mr Sarkozy was ordered to pay back ?12,000 in personal bills which he had put on public accounts.
A Palace spokesman said the floral bill was now being cut and welcomed the release of the figures as a move towards “transparent government”.
