Cindy Crawford might be a world famous supermodel, but even runway queens have to age. Fortunately for Cindy, she seems to have pretty good attitude about getting older. “I have cellulite,” she tells September’s Redbook. “I admit it. But sometimes I just say, ‘Screw it, I am going to wear a bikini.’”
Even with her carefree attitude, Cindy is aware of the pressures of aging gracefully.
“I think I look good for my age. I am not 25; I am 43. That feels like a big pressure, especially when the National Enquirer is dying to get a picture,” she admits. “I am so aware that I don’t want to change the way I live because of that kind of attention. So you say, ‘Screw it. I am wearing a bikini, and I am not putting on a cover-up.’ You just brace yourself for a bad picture.”
And although she’s recognized for her beauty wherever she goes, Cindy just sees herself as a mom — she’s married to Rande Gerber — which is fine with her.
“People get excited that they’re meeting the Cindy Crawford from the Playboy spread 13 years ago, and I am a mother of two now,” she explains. “I have to check in with myself. It’s good to have an awareness of the outside pressure; I can’t let it get to my core. I love my life.”

FOR a winter’s day, it was hard to beat for Kristy Hinze. The Queensland supermodel flew in to Brisbane as a guest of the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival.
“It’s 32C outside – where else do you get that in winter? It’s genius,” Hinze laughed.
After spending the past few months in Melbourne filming Foxtel’s Project Runway, Hinze revelled in the balmy conditions as Queensland’s best designers showed off their spring/summer collections. Chelsea de Luca, Sacha Drake and Grbac were among the local labels on the catwalk last night, followed by George Wu, Paul Hunt, Toscano and Darb Bridal Couture.”As far as the fashions go, we’ve got some very talented people here which make it a wonderful festival,” Hinze said.
Hinze sat in the front row during the group shows at City Hall last night and plans to take in as many shows as she can before catching up with family tomorrow .
The festival continues today with a forum and breakfast, the launch of the Queen Street Mall’s ‘Fairest of the Mall’ styling competition at 12pm, and more group shows tonight.

You would be forgiven for thinking that as an experienced front rower and super-successful Hollywood star, supermodel Milla Jovovich would be spoilt for choice when it came to choosing a wedding dress. But after her Beverly Hills wedding this weekend to Brit director Paul Anderson, it seems like she couldn’t find one to her taste. And what to do when you can’t find your perfect wedding dress? Design your own! The 33-year-old said of her white sleeveless Grecian-style frock: ‘It’s super simple, but beautiful like a late ’60s or early ’70s white mini. It’s very cute!’ Top marks for jumping on the MIY bandwagon Milla (that’s Make It Yourself fashion, doncha know), here’s hoping that it’s one trend here to stay…
