Tyra Banks sued by former employee

Tyra_Banks
A former employee of Tyra Banks has sued her claiming she has held back his wages worth thousands of dollars.
Richard Thomas filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles County Superior Court charging the supermodel-turned-TV presenter of not paying him 3, 638 pounds, reports the Daily Star.
According to TMZ.com, Thomas says he is due money for “services rendered as assistant and advisor” to the star. Although the legal papers insist that Thomas must himself ask Banks for the outstanding amount before filing the case, he says: “I have not been able to catch (Tyra) while she is in.”

Heidi Klum to Release Book of Nudie Pics

Heidi_KlumIf we looked like Heidi Klum, we’re pretty sure we would just wear shoes and a bag and call it a day.
Which is why it’s not much of a surprise that the supermodel is releasing a book called Heidilicious, filled with photos of herself — some with very little clothing on.
Heidi teamed up with photographer Rankin — who apparently has a way of getting Seal’s gorgeous wife out of her Jordache jeans.
“It’s very naughty,” the pregnant mom of three told Los Angeles Confidential mag of the book. “I’ve been shooting with Rankin, for seven years and working with him is fun because he always makes me look different.
“He always gets me to take my clothes off for some reason. We’ll do some job and then he’ll say, ‘Why don’t we shoot some more things?’ and I’ll wind up without anything on.”
We bet a lot of other men wish they had that skill.
The book hits shelves this October.
Have you ever had nude photos taken? Would you ever?

Kate Moss’ Paris exhibition is delayed

Kate_Moss
An exhibition devoted to Kate Moss at Le Mus?e des Artes Decoratifs in Paris which was due to open in November this year has been delayed due to a lack of funding.
The exhibition, which was set to showcase the supermodels iconic status through a series of Moss photographs from the past 20 years, has now been put on hold until 2011.
According to NY magazine, the museum normally funds smaller exhibitions itself, but it relies on private funding for major, large-scale exhibitions, and unfortunately for Ms. Moss, no one seems keen on parting with their pounds.
Seeing as Kate is organising the exhibit with the museum – the first of its kind in France – you’d think Topshop boss Sir Phillip Green would lend a hand, or, dare we say it, that the supermodel might dip her hand into her own stylish pocket.

Woody’s got star film role for Carla

Carla_Bruni
FRENCH First Lady Carla Bruni is set to star in a Woody Allen film.
The wife of President Nicolas Sarkozy is said to have accepted the offer of a role next year, it was reported.
French paper Le Parisien said: “Carla Bruni-Sarkozy has accepted the proposition to star in one of his films. Her acting experience, however, is rather limited.”
Veteran director Allen, 73, met the couple in Paris in June and said afterwards: “Carla Bruni is very beautiful and I’m sure she would have a gift for comedy. I’d give her any part she wanted.”
Ex-supermodel Carla, 41, had a small role in Robert Altman’s 1994 film Pret-a-Porter.
Now a singer, she has performed in concert and released albums, mostly in France – but the last one was panned by the French press.
Music critic Gerard Delapont said: “If she ever stars in a film, I hope her acting is better than her singing.”
The Elysee Palace had no comment yesterday.

Supermodel, Jewelry Designer, ’80s icon: Christie Brinkley

Christie_BrinkleyIF SHOULDER PADS can make a major comeback, so can Christie Brinkley. The original ’80s poster girl, former horseback-riding champ and mom of three has returned to fashion as the designer of a colorful, affordable jewelry collection by Ross-Simmons .
» EXPRESS: Designing seems like an interesting way to experience another side of fashion. Did you enjoy it?
» BRINKLEY: I did! The collection is a reflection of what I love. There are peace and love symbols, but also a lot of items inspired by the outdoors. I’m a big gardener and an environmentalist, and you see that in the floral designs. I also love the wild west and horseback riding — I was a National Cutting Horse Association champion back in 1991! — so, there are elements of Native American jewelry in there as well.
» EXPRESS: As a former model, you’re usually associated with fashion. Is jewelry also a passion of yours?
» BRINKLEY: I’ve always loved jewelry. Having been a model and having traveled around the world, from Kenya to Hong Kong to wherever, I’d always try to extend my trip and stay for a few more days. I’d go to the marketplaces and buy loads of stuff from the indigenous culture — fabrics and furniture and lots of jewelry.
»EXPRESS: How would you describe your style?
»BRINKLEY: I like to have fun with my different moods. I guess you could say I’m very American, especially with the idea of America being a melting pot. If I’m going to one of my daughter’s concerts, I’ll try to be a little more rock ‘n’ roll — maybe one of my vintage 1970s concert tees with a blazer, jeans and funky jewelry. If I’m going to an event out in the Hamptons, where I live, I might wear a beautiful dress from Ralph Lauren or Donna Karan.
»EXPRESS: You sound like a pretty hip mom.
»BRINKLEY: My kids always have an opinion about what I’m wearing. The other day, my son actually said, “Mom, you can’t wear those jeans anymore. They’re so over.” Three kids all with different opinions can be rough.
»EXPRESS: What do you think of the return of ’80s fashions?
»BRINKLEY: It’s crazy! At some of the fall runway shows, the designers said they modeled the girls after Brooke Shields and me, with our hair and makeup from back then. It’s fun, but it’s a reminder that I’m quite the relic.
»EXPRESS: Can you believe big shoulders and zippered jeans are back in style?
»BRINKLEY: My daughter Alexa will say, “I love this! It’s so ’80s!” But I always thought of the ’80s as the least stylish decade that I could possibly think of, and now it’s back. Looking at my old modeling portfolio, I can’t even believe that’s the decade I got.
» EXPRESS: What’s next for you?
» BRINKLEY: I’ve been working on my Web site, Christiebrinkley.com. I even made a Facebook page. I was resistant to all of this at first, but I’m finally joining the electronic age.
» EXPRESS: Do your kids help you out?
» BRINKLEY: They know more than me! If I need any help, I have two experts on call at home.
