Naomi Campbell has hit out at fashion label bosses, accusing them of snubbing black and Asian models.
Campbell broke down barriers when she became the first black model to appear on the cover of the French edition of Vogue in 1988, later repeating the feat in the magazine’s, UK, Japanese and Chinese issues.
But she insists that 20 years on there are still few opportunities for models who don’t have “blonde hair and blue eyes”.
And she argues the current climate of economic strife is the perfect opportunity for big labels to try new concepts.
In a message to fans on her blog, the supermodel writes, “Sadly, I don’t see enough black women or any other non-white race in big advertising campaigns. As I have said before, companies are not putting girls of colour in their campaigns especially in the panic of the recession.
“During any recession, it is at times like these that the companies should be open-minded and come up with inspiring concepts. I love blonde hair and blue eyes but the world is also made up of other colours that are just as inspiring and exciting and should be incorporated in campaigns.”

Gisele Bundchen and Tom Brady are expecting a baby girl, Life & Style reports.
The supermodel, 29, and New England Patriots quarterback, 32, married in February and are expecting a daughter in December.
A Life & Style insider reports that although Gisele wanted to decorate the nursery in pastel pinks, they’ll opt for a nautical theme instead with cream and seafoam green.
“There’s going to be a room off the side of the nursery where the nanny will sleep. And they’re using a crib that’s been in Gisele’s family for four generations.
“Her grandmother slept in this crib, her mom slept in this crib, Gisele slept in this crib, and now Gisele’s daughter will sleep in this crib. It’s beautiful solid oak.”
“She’s always wanted a big family,” the insider says, “and she’s excited to get started.”

We could never forget the diamond Victoria’s Secret bra that Heidi Klum once donned. And now, even in this economy, they’re bringing it back! VS has just announced that supermodel Marisa Miller will carry on the tradition at the next Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show by wearing a $3 million diamond-studded bra created by Damiani.
Marisa tells People, “It is an enormous honor to wear the Fantasy bra. It’s one of the main features in the Fashion Show every year and I’m so excited to walk the runway in it.”
“The diamonds are in a harlequin pattern and contain white, champagne and cognac colored diamonds. There is also a 16-carat heart shaped champagne diamond pendant dangling in the middle.
“It is surprisingly comfortable,” she says, “because the Damiani diamonds are embroidered onto the VS Very Sexy Convertible bra — which is actually one of my favorites.”

Claudia Schiffer is in Buenos Aires for a photo shoot for Chanel on location in Argentina. Both were invited by the Argentine model Ivan de Pineda.
With a team of photographers and producers, the celebrities staying at the Hotel Alvear.
The idea was to start working today, but the photo shoot could be delayed because of the climate.
This work is done a few weeks after the supermodel announced her retirement from the catwalk.
Schiffer announced that she will not get on the runway though she will continue to work in fashion. “I have finished with the catwalk and not miss,” she confessed.
Meanwhile Lagerfeld was in headlines by declaring war on curvy women. “Nobody wants to see a round woman,” said the tailor.
Several years ago, Lagerfeld rejected the proposal to create garments with a size beyond the 38 for a brand because he did not want to design clothing for overweight women.
The ‘Kaiser’ of fashion is a designer, but also a photographer and filmmaker. He is recognized as one of the most talented contemporary designers, which recreates every season with the most current impressions of the brand created by Coco Chanel.

The Israeli-born supermodel showed off her sexy style as she made her way inside Cipriani Wall Street, sporting a black cleavage-baring minidress with black peep-toe heels.
The Angel Ball benefitted Gabrielle’s Angel Foundation for Cancer Research, funding basic and clinical medical research and focusing on prevention, treatment, and quality of life issues.
The day before (October 19) Bar was out in the SoHo district of NYC with two mystery males, grabbing lunch at the Lure Fishbar Seafood restaurant.

To be or not to be, that is the question. We had already heard rumblings on the rumour mill about Agyness Deyn moving to Hollywood to pursue acting, so we knew it wouldn’t be long before she turned her talents to the big screen. Joining the ranks of uber-models-turned-actors, which include Sienna Miller, Charlize Theron and more recently Lily Cole in The Imaginarium Of Dr Parnassus, Miss Deyn is set to appear in a short film by artist Peter McGough. McGough is one half of the artistic duo McDermott and McGough, the NY painters who live and dress completely in 1900s garb, so we’re expecting great and insightful things for Agy’s first flick. Her co-star will be Law And Order’s Linus Roache, but we don’t reckon there will be much stage fright from the supermodel, who says she already feels like an actress. ‘It’s so weird because it’s like I’m pretending to be a model. And when I get on a shoot and they say, “Be sexy” or “Be ladylike”, I have to think: OK, I’m turning into that character. And then after the shoot I’m back to normal.’ Add some incredible jewellery and make-up to the mix (Peter is trying to get sponsorship for the film from beauty giant Guerlain and luxury jeweller Mikimoto) and we smell a recipe for success.

Hollywood supermodel Cindy Crawford fears that her famous mole on left cheek may turn cancerous.
The mole has been a beauty mark on Cindy’s face. She says that the mole was little freckle when she begun her career in 80s but it has grown up by the years.
In an interview to a daily, Cindy Crawford said that doctors have advised her to undergo regular check ups as it could be turned cancerous.
“Doctors say that the mole changing its shape and colour could be dangerous,” the 43-year-old model said.
Candy said that she is cautious about her health and she undergoes medical examination of her all moles in body every year. She regularly spends time in exercise and takes good diet. “I never smoke and drink occasionally only.”
