The 22-year-old Ward, who has been a target of criticism by an international fashion website for gaining extra pounds, has done no fashion assignments since Health Ledger – who she was believed to be dating – passed away in January last year.
“Gemma hasn’t committed to returning to modelling at any time soon,” news.com.au quoted a rep for modelling agency, Viviens, as saying.
She added that the agency was fully supportive of the New York-based Ward.ard’s model sister Sophie has kept mum on the issue.

American model Marisa Miller has posed straddling a Harley-Davidson to pay homage to active and retired US military personnel.
The blonde bombshell, who did the advert for the motorbike giant’s first-ever Military Appreciation Month, said she was delighted to support “those who keep us riding free.”
“I’m honoured to help the Motor Company salute the brave men and women who keep our country free,” the Sun quoted Miller, as saying.
She added: “My grandfather is a veteran and I’ve had the unique opportunity to meet several service men and women during recent USO tours, so the military holds a special place in my heart.
“I hope other Americans will join me and Harley-Davidson in saluting these real life heroes during the month of November.”
Harley-Davidson has also announced a competition for the armed forces personnel, which will give them a chance to win a bike personally delivered by Miller.
“It’s humbling to think of the countless sacrifices these brave men and women – and their families – have made to keep our country free, so the Harley-Davidson family is honoured to partner with Marisa to help salute military personnel this month,” Dino Bernacchi, Harley-Davidson’s director of Advertising and Promotions said.

Kate Moss is making sure that her daughter takes up modelling – she’s teaching her how to walk on the ramp.
The British supermodel threw a model-themed birthday party for friend Sadie Frost’s nine-year-old daughter Iris – her child with actor Jude Law.
And there, the catwalk queen taught the birthday girl and her own daughter Lila Grace, seven, her catwalk skills for a special show.
“Kate had been teaching Iris and Lila Grace how to model and how to walk the catwalk properly in preparation for the party. They could hardly have a better teacher,” Contactmusic quoted a source as telling Britain’s MailOnline website.
“All of the girls at the bash wanted to be Kate. She brought along lots of clothes for them and the girls had their hair and make-up done especially. She was teaching them how to master her famous hip swagger and her “I don”t care look,’” added the source.
And apparently the youngsters enjoyed so much that Iris and Lila Grace now both want to be models like Kate.
