After the success Jimmy Choo’s sold-out collection, it seems all the fashion world’s elite are keen to cash in on an H&M collaboration.
And the latest label to merge with the High Street store is French designer Sonia Rykiel who earlier this week unveiled her new lingerie range for the chain.
Seated under a specially made Eiffel Tower, 2,000 guests were given a spectacular preview of the collection, which debuts in around 1,500 H&M global branches from 5 December.
The range will also be available in Sonia Rykiel’s major boutiques around the world – another first for H&M.
Lily Cole and a harem of models stormed the catwalk at the Palais Royal in Paris sporting the fifties-style underwear, racy suspenders and sexy negligees.
The English rose took the reins as she rode a giant concrete horse in a revealing black bra and matching stockings.
The boudoir-style set also featured models standing on swings, posing on chandeliers and lying on a bed of silk linen.
‘It is a hallmark of Sonia Rykiel to think of all women because fashion is about a certain spirit more than a question of means. This collaboration fits perfectly with our philosophy.
‘The Sonia Rykiel pour H&M lingerie collection is the ideal way to offer the essence of Rykiel to a great number of women around the world, and a beautiful way to close the year.’ says Nathalie Rykiel, president and artistic director of Sonia Rykiel.

The underwear range includes nightwear and accessories and falls in line with the current trend for underwear as outerwear, as seen on Hollywood celebrities Rihanna and Madonna, and conical bras which recently made a comeback.
Since the opening of her first boutique in 1968, Rykiel has become an ambassadress of a very Parisian style, with hallmarks of individuality that the designer calls ‘la démode’ (’unfashion’).
Rykiel signatures include inside-out stitching, a preponderance of black, lace, strass, colourful stripes and knitwear that has become synonymous with the brand.
A flamboyant redhead, the designer is a national icon who has been decorated with many honours; she is also the author of nine books and has consistently been an influential presence on the French social and cultural scene.
Since her daughter, Nathalie Rykiel, joined the company in 1975, the house has expanded to include the lines: Sonia by Sonia Rykiel, Rykiel Woman, Rykiel Enfant, shoes and accessories.

Sonia Rykiel is the only French group in the fashion industry to remain family-owned and 100% independent.
Sonia Rykiel Pour H&M will be available on 5th December 2009 in 1,500 H&M stores worldwide, as well as the lingerie being available in Sonia Rykiel’s major boutiques around the world.

Amber Le Bon wants to become a fashion photographer.
The model – the daughter of supermodel Yasmin and Duran Duran singer Simon Le Bon – understands she won’t be able to make money from her looks forever and will embark on a career behind the camera when she grows older.
She said: “I know modelling is not a lifelong career, and because I so love taking pictures of people I think my future is going to be as a photographer.”
The 20-year-old beauty – who has previously modelled for Moschino and British store River Island – hasn’t started working on her camera skills yet but is certain she has already picked up some vital tips through her work in the fashion industry.
She told Britain’s Daily Mail newspaper: “I am learning a lot about the work on the other side of the camera. I am constantly getting practical experience, although I haven’t studied it technically.”
Earlier this year, it was revealed Amber’s British Iranian model mother Yasmin would launch her own fashion line.
The 45-year-old beauty will be teaming with British store Wallis to launch her first clothing and jewellery collection YLB.

TWO avid knitters from Surrey are working for a company set up by supermodel Lily Cole.
Pat Clack and her friend, Audrey Smithers, became involved in The North Circular and are now busy knitting items for the project.
It uses talented knitters from around the country with what it described as “the happiest wool in the world” – Izzy Lane wool, from sheep that have been rescued from slaughter houses.
Both Send Road residents started knitting at a very young age and have found it therapeutic and relaxing over the years.
At the moment, Pat is working on a large collar for the company while Audrey is busy creating a pair of fingerless mittens.
Pat has been knitting for a couple of years for the Izzy Lane firm, which is based in Wensleydale, Yorkshire.
She was then contacted by the mother of Alice Ashby, one of the leading lights in The North Circular company, and her involvement in the project began.
Pat said: “I think they were searching around and wanted a knitter in the south. I was called and asked if I was interested and would I give it some thought.
“Alice came to see me and Audrey was here and asked if she was a knitter as well.
“Knitting is very therapeutic and you get great satisfaction when you make something for yourself and your friends.”
Pat and Audrey, who worked at the Clifford James shoe shop in Ripley, are now very much part of the company.
They have been knitting designs that were on display during London Fashion Week.
Audrey said: “I have known Pat for a long time and we exchange views about knitting.
“I was talking to her about knitting when I went to see her when I was short of wool and this project came up.
“It seems really good and I especially like that they use rescued sheep – that’s brilliant.
“I find knitting very relaxing. You can listen to the radio or watch television while you are doing it.
“I do a lot of knitting for the Coign Church, in Woking, and items get sent out to an orphanage in Zimbabwe.
“I have been knitting since I was five and have still got the original needles I had in my Christmas stocking one year.”
The company donates 5% of its profits to the Environmental Justice Foundation.
You can see Pat and Audrey knitting at Ascension, an eco fashion store behind Selfridges in London, on Tuesday, December 15 between 3 and 6pm.
For more information and to see Pat on the company website, go to www.thenorthcircular.com.

Kate Moss is looking for a Los Angeles home. Moss is believed to have enlisted the help of Victoria Beckham in her search.
Moss is “tired of flying in and out of LA”, a source told The Daily Star. As a result, she thinks a base in Beverly Hills would be a good idea.
Victoria Beckham is thought to be helping the supermodel in her search for a home in LA. Moss wants to use the same estate agents as Beckham and has contacted the former Spice Girl’s management.
However, as Rightmove points out, not everybody has the budget of “Croydon’s finest”. The property portal has put together a selection of homes that “you can stamp your own style on” in and around Moss’s home territory in the south of London.

Tom Brady knows how to keep a secret! Just ask Gisele Bündchen, whose husband found out the sex of their baby – due this month – even though she’s waiting on a surprise.
“I’m really the only one that knows at this point,” Brady, 32, said in an interview with WEEI Sports Radio on Wednesday. “My dad asked me. I haven’t told him. [Gisele] doesn’t know. It’s a pretty good feeling knowing something that no one else knows.”
Especially, Brady adds, because he’s been able to keep it from Bündchen, 29. “She’s a very intelligent woman,” he explains. “I wanted to find out and she didn’t, so she said, ‘Go ahead.’ It will be a surprise for her.”
The Patriots quarterback admits that he’s had to be careful with his pronouns as of late. “I always mix it,” he added. “I don’t think I’ve ever slipped. I’m very conscious when I’m saying it.”
So will their nursery at their luxe Boston condo be blue or pink? “There’s no paint yet!” joked Brady, adding that he hasn’t shared yet whether or not his 2-year-old son Jack, with ex Bridget Moynahan, will have to start sharing his hand-me-downs. “Everything is unisex at this point. Yellow. Light green. There’s lots of this.”
