Gisele Bundchen is officially the world’s best-paid supermodel – the Brazilian beauty made a massive $35 million (?21.9 million) in 2009 despite taking a break to have a baby.
The 29 year old took some time off from the catwalk last year (09) to give birth to her first child, baby Benjamin, with her sports star husband Tom Brady in December (09).
But even though the pregnancy left the supermodel sidelined for much of the year, Bundchen still managed to outperform her catwalk rivals in the financial stakes – earning a massive $35 million (?21.9 million) for her modelling duties.
The massive pay cheque puts her top of a list of the world’s best paid models, pushing British beauty Kate Moss, who made $7.5 million (?4.7 million), into second place.
Bundchen’s fellow Brazilian, and Victoria’s Secret angel Adriana Lima was third in the list by Walletpop.co.uk, followed by another face of the famous underwear brand, Doutzen Kroes, in fourth. The top five is rounded out by Czech model Karolina Kurkova, who also took time off to have a baby in October (09).

Brazilian model Alessandra Ambrosio was recently spotted wearing a bandeau bikini for a photo shoot for French Elle magazine.
Ambrosio, 28, also wore a barely there cover-up, as she skated down a Miami Beach boardwalk on January 8, reports the New York Post.
The Victoria’s Secret supermodel, who has baby daughter, Anja, with her fiance, is also doing very well professionally.
In May 2009, she was featured in Forbes’ world’s highest-paid models, earning an estimated 6 million dollars, and she continues to be one of the lingerie company’s marquee Angels.

Miranda Kerr insists she isn’t perfect.
The Aussie model — who’s currently dating British actor Orlando Bloom — admits her body has its faults and she’s working hard to whip them into shape.
“Nobody is perfect,” she said. “I have my good parts but I also have those parts I need to work on but that’s between me and my personal trainer.
“I think the important thing is that all women are happy and confident with what they have got and don’t feel pushed to being a certain way.”
Kerr recently revealed that she has a secret crush on Britain’s Prince William.
“I’ve always had a big crush on Prince William since I was a little girl,” she told Fox News in December.

Now this is the one we’ve been dying to see. Hot off the heels of Gisele Bundchen (and boy are those some big shoes to fill) the shots of Georgia May Jagger as the new face of Versace are in.
After recently receiving Model of the Year at 2009’s British Fashion Awards, the 17-year-old model, who’s gearing up to front British beauty brand Rimmel London’s SS10 campaign, is showing the world exactly what she’s made of.
Literally. Could she look any more like her rock legend father and supermodel mother?
Shot by fashion photography legend Mario Testino in London laying fashionably on a fur-drenched floor, model-of-the-moment Georgia looks every bit a super-in-the-shaping as she effortlessly shows off Versace’s vibrant spring collection.

Here’s a StyleList New Year’s prediction: Supermodel Gisele Bündchen frantically pushing a baby jogger while nibbling on a carrot stick.
How else can you explain the news that Mrs. Tom Brady plans to step in front of the camera scant weeks after the Dec. 8 delivery of her first child, son Benjamin Brady?
We haven’t even had time to pick out a baby gift for the celebrity couple and already Bündchen has a new due date. This time with fashion photographer David Sims, who was hired to shoot Gisele for the Brazilian sportswear line Colcci; the supermodel has a contract with the brand.
The Boston Herald is reporting that the shoot will take place at the end of the month in Beantown, where Brady has a standing gig as NFL Quarterback for the New England Patriots (and is resident hottie).
We suspect there’s already a recovery team calling the shots for Bündchen; maybe a trainer, a nutritionist, a nanny (or two). If she’s too sleep deprived to stick with the program, maybe her postpartum girth will get the same Photoshop treatment her baby bump got in the London Fog ads.
And while we want to imagine her sweating out this shoot, it’s likely the genetically blessed supermodel is one of those lucky few who just immediately morphs back into her pre-pregnancy self. Heidi Klum has certainly exhibited that trait.
However, don’t expect Bündchen to be as busy as Klum has been since she had her most recent child. The former left a holiday message to fans after Benjamin’s birth stating that she is enjoying the “happy time in my life.”
And an associate of the model’s told People magazine, “It wouldn’t surprise me if she [Gisele] gives up most of the business.” (Apparently, she’s not quitting her day job just yet.)

Naomi Campbell has backed out from fronting a reality TV modelling competition because she could not agree on the terms of her contract.
According to reports, the British catwalk queen was offered a role hosting the UK version of ‘America’s Next Top Model’, which is presented by model-turned-TV star Tyra Banks.
Campbell was in talks with TV bosses over her pay and the amount of time she would be expected to be available for the project. However, according to Britain’s Daily Mail newspaper, the negotiations fell through at the last minute.
“What was missing (in the British version) was a real diva supermodel, a British equivalent to US host Tyra Banks,” Contactmusic quoted a source as saying.
“Naomi was really excited, but pulled out because she couldn’t reach an agreement over logistics or the amount of time she would have to commit,” added the source.

British model Rosie Huntingotn-Whiteley proves she’s an ambitious lass after upgrading her life in more ways than one.
The undies girl, who features in a new ad campaign for Victoria’s Secret, dumped Tyrone Wood, the son of the Rolling Stones’ Ronnie, and is now dating Kylie’s ex, Oliver Martinez.
It’s not hard to work out what the French actor saw in the model, who is half his age.
That’s right, it’s her stunning personality.

Bicycle manufacturer Pashley has come to the rescue of one of its customers who had her bicycle stolen and replaced it free of charge.
But before any other owners of bikes by the iconic British brand who have been left bereft by the theft of their pride and joy start beating a path to the door of its Stratford-upon-Avon factory with their own tales of woe, we should point out that the customer in question is Lily Cole, the supermodel-turned-actress and Cambridge University student.
Miss Cole’s bike, a Pashley Princess Sovereign, was stolen in Cambridge last month, with the Daily Mail reporting that the thieves had first removed its wicker basket.
Following the theft, Miss Cole related how she always took care of her bike, saying that she refused to leave it at the city’s railway station, recently criticised for its full-to-capacity bike parking, which she said was “like a cesspit of cycles,” adding “I don’t take my bike there. I don’t think it’s nice to put it in so much danger.”
With the new university term having started last week, Pashley has come to Miss Cole’s aid, giving her a new bicycle for free. According to the Daily Mail, Pashley managing director Adrian Williams said: “I thought it was rotten to think of Lily losing her Princess, and I didn’t want it to spoil her holidays. Plus, Lily looks so gorgeous on the Princess I couldn’t bear her being without one.”
No doubt creating a PR-friendly story that would be eagerly snapped up by a host of websites targeted at fashionistas presumably didn’t enter the equation, either way it’s a shrewd piece of PR on the part of Pashley, whose traditionally styled bikes pop up regularly on the pages of fashion magazines and websites. Having a supermodel riding one of their bikes can’t hurt so it pays for Pashley to make sure she keep riding one… the fact that bing a supermodel Lily Cole hardly needs their largesse is, we suppose, immaterial.
Even in these economically straitened times, it’s unlikely that she would have had to scrimp too much to find the ?600 it would have taken to replace the bicycle. According to last year’s Sunday Times Rich List, she is worth some ?4 million – enough to replace the bicycle more than 6,500 times over, or to take out more than 83,000 annual insurance policies on it, based on her college’s postcode.
