She has been a model, a pop star, a fashion designer and even a pole dancer – and now Kate Moss has set her sights on becoming a ballerina.
The supermodel is working on a duet with Sex And The City star Mikhail Baryshnikov, who is regarded as one of the great ballet dancers of the modern era.
Miss Moss will star in a short film with the 62-year-old Russian – with the working title Baryshnimoss – made by the renowned choreographer and director Michael Clark.
The 36-year-old has been taking private ballet lessons with Clark and is set to embark on a gruelling three-month training regime before filming starts in Marseille in July.
According to people close to the production, Miss Moss has been advised to cut down on her party lifestyle.
‘Kate has to be fit, healthy and looking good, so her late nights and heavy partying have to be reduced. I know that she is very happy to do that and has talked about wanting to get fit and healthy herself,’ says a source.
‘It will be a movie made for them so she doesn’t have to be a prima ballerina, even though she is having classes.
‘Baryshnikov is a beautiful man but he is in his 60s so you don’t ask him to jump really high or do this or do that. It will be interesting because it will be about them.
‘In Michael’s eye as a film-maker, the movement of the camera dances already by itself. It will be an extremely interesting collaboration and the film will be the result of the dance.
‘It will be shown at some sort of fund-raiser but if anything it will go into a gallery where everybody can see it. I think that is how Michael sees it.’
However, it remains to be seen if Miss Moss can kick her party lifestyle. Just last week the Croydon-born supermodel was spotted looking worse for wear at a charity fashion show.
Miss Moss, who will fly to New York next month to start working with Baryshnikov, has previously tried her hand at a number of artistic endeavours.
She has sung with Primal Scream and her ex-boyfriend Pete Doherty’s band Babyshambles, and made her acting debut in the 1999 short film Blackadder: Back & Forth.
She has also launched her own fashion line for the High Street chain Topshop, and performed a pole dance in a pop video for The White Stripes.
Baryshnikov, who appeared as Carrie Bradshaw’s artist boyfriend in Sex And The City, started his career with the Kirov Ballet (now the Mariinsky) in St Petersburg before defecting to Canada in 1974.

Models, actresses and singers all want to be designers these days. From Coco Rocha’s recently launched line to Nicole Richie’s boho-inspired collection, there’s no shortage of crossover into fashion designer. The latest photogenic faces trying their hand at designer? Lily Allen and Jessica Stam. The latter tweeted yesterday, “Just finished my first design meeting with @Rachel_Roy. I’m doing a capsule collection with her for Macy’s. So much fun sketching designs!”
As for Allen, she’s leaving music altogether to pursue her sartorial passions. First up, Allen plans to launch a vintage shop in London called Lucy in Disguise, which she’ll curate along with her sister, Sarah Owen. “Allen and Owen will cherry-pick vintage pieces for the shop under the mentorship of Wayne and Gerardine Hemingway, the English vintage gurus who have helped turned Camden Market into the destination it is today,” Style.com says of the soon to launch shop. But, Allen’s mission isn’t only to find and then pass along beautiful items.
In fact, the shop is a statement of sorts against fast fashion. “The thing I love about vintage is that it’s all incredibly well made, like Chanel—it lasts forever,” she says. “Hopefully, Lucy in Disguise will be an education as well, teaching customers there’s something other than mass-produced rubbish.”

Earlier this week, British model Jourdan Dunn made a triumphant return to the catwalk, having taken off a few seasons during her pregnancy. The 19-year-old had given birth to a son in early December – her first child with her boyfriend of over four years.
Now it seems the transition back to the world of high fashion won’t be without its trials; her boyfriend, Jordan Cummings, was reportedly arrested in London on Thursday on charges of possession of cocaine with intent to sell. A source told UK tabloid The Sun , “He’s well-known on the streets as a dealer. He’s been dealing since he was a teenager, and makes about ?1,000 a week.”
Dunn, who was named the UK’s Model of the Year in 2008, has refused to comment.

Supermodel Naomi Campbell has admitted she “regrets” her previous wild behaviour and is maturing as she gets older.
The 39-year-old has a string of convictions, including assaulting police officers and a housekeeper in her fiery past.
But she is now hitting the headlines for her Haiti charity work and her friendship with Sarah Brown, the wife of the Prime Minister.
Naomi told Radio 5 Live: “I am not proud of any of the mistakes. But I am a work in progress. I am maturing, getting older and you do change.
“People think I have just started doing charity work but I have been doing it since 1993. Nelson Mandela once told me to ‘use what you do to help others’.”
Naomi said of Mrs Brown: “She is intelligent and warm. I am learning a lot from her. I am blessed to have her as a friend.”

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and French actor Olivier Martinez have split after a short romance.
The 22-year-old model is said to be devastated and spent Valentine’s Day alone in Goa.
Says a friend: ‘Rosie is putting on a brave face. She tends to move from one relationship to another fairly quickly, so I suspect she won’t be single for long.
‘She went to Goa alone to relax and prepare for London Fashion Week.’
Rosie met Olivier, 44, at a Victoria’s Secret fashion show in November and the couple spent New Year in Paris.
But they have seen little of each other since because of work commitments.
‘Rosie thought that it might work out, but living so far apart proved too much of an obstacle for them,’ adds the friend.
Olivier has been linked to many beautiful women and dated Kylie Minogue for four years.
Rosie split from Tyrone Wood, the son of Rolling Stones star Ronnie and his ex-wife Jo, just two weeks before she met Olivier.
Diminutive Kylie Minogue has a new diet secret. She’s become a devotee of the Ayurvedic health regime, which has its origins in ancient India.
Kylie, 41, has been diagnosed by an Ayurvedic practitioner as a Vata type – like Cameron Diaz and Julia Roberts – which means she should avoid too much fruit, especially when mixed with other foods.
‘She is taking this very seriously, and insisting that things like apples and grapes aren’t on her list of requests when she goes for photoshoots,’ said a source.

Aussie supermodel Miranda Kerr has made it onto the Milan catwalk for the first time.
Kerr joined fellow Australians Catherine McNeil and Abbey Lee Kershaw as the stars of the Prada show at Milan Fashion Week on Thursday.
The trio modelled below-the-knee skirts, wool gowns with ruffled hems and bodices, cable knit suits and short flared jackets with fur trimming.
With their hair in perfect chignons, they joined a parade of models sporting retro shoes from slingbacks to pumps to sandals, all worn with embroidered wool knee socks.
Inspired by Mad Men, the American cult television series set in the sexy world of a 1960s advertising agency when women with hourglass figures were celebrated and desired, the Prada collection was full of cosy knits and flared skirts.
Designer Miuccia Prada wowed the fashion crowd with her black and retro prints that recalled a dimly lit winter.
It was the first Milan show for Kerr, the Victoria’s Secret and David Jones model.
She was watched from the front row by American Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour.
Fresh off the plane and decked out in purple, Wintour was a surprise appearance at the Prada and Fendi shows after fears the superstar editor would sit out much of Milan’s winter womenswear fashion week because of her tight schedule.
Organisers scrambled to accommodate Wintour, squeezing more than 100 shows and presentations into just four days.
But, Fendi and Prada chose to show on Thursday – with or without the powerful fashion arbiter, the inspiration for Miranda Priestly in the book and movie The Devil Wears Prada.
“You have to believe in what you are worth,” Silvia Venturini Fendi, the second-generation Fendi designer, said after the show, which featured the label’s trademark furs.
Wintour plans to be in Hollywood for Oscars night on March 7 and before that is scheduled to attend Paris fashion week.

Australian model Jessica Gomes is capitalising on a trend towards healthy classic beauties as she follows in the footsteps of Elle Macpherson.
The curvaceous 24-year-old stunner – who is half Singaporean and half Portuguese – has just had her third shoot for the famed Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue.
She said she was delighted to be one of the top Sports Illustrated models, following in Macpherson’s footsteps – and she has her sights set on being the magazine’s covergirl.
“Now, I’m one of the top Sports Illustrated models,” Gomes told AAP from New York.
“They have a certain number of girls that they keep using and I think I’ve gotten into that category, which is really exciting. And I’m just really happy.
“I’m the only Australian and I’m the only Asian so I’m really proud of that.”
Voted one of the 10 hottest supermodels by US magazine MAXIM, the Perth-born exotic beauty has been modelling for 10 years and moved to New York five years ago, picking up work with Victoria’s Secret and other labels.
She has just returned from Korea where she is a household name thanks to her star turn in a video game and her own reality TV show called I Am Jessica Gomes.
Gomes said it wasn’t always easy as a youngster in the competitive New York modelling world.
She said she was lucky that her look was “in” right now, with a departure from the sexy, edgy, alien look recently favoured by the industry.
“I’ve been speaking to my agents and they’re saying that pretty is back, which is great for me,” said Gomes, who rang the closing bell at the New York Stock Exchange earlier this week.
“I’m really happy that they’re bringing back the classic beauties.
“That’s what’s so exciting about the industry. You never know what they’re looking for next.”
Gomes, who is a close friend of fellow Perth model and actress Gemma Ward, said Australians had an advantage in the US.
“Everyone loves Australians because we’re so easy-going,” Gomes said.
“We have a genuine feel to us. People like having that around. And we’re easy to work with.
“Plus, we have a really natural clean look and that’s why I think Miranda’s (Kerr) worked really well.
“It’s more clean and it lasts. Go Australia, I’m loving it.”
Looking ahead, Gomes, who starred in the TV show Bush Patrol when she was 12, would also like to go back to acting at some stage, and hopes to do more work in Australia.
But right now, she’s hoping her success continues.
“I think I’m doing something right. I just hope it continues because you never know,” she said.

It may not have been her big night but Daisy Lowe was determined to grab the headlines at the Alice In Wonderland premiere.
The young model turned up in a black sheer bondage-style tunic complete with black, hold-up stockings under which her purple satin underwear could clearly be seen.
She did wear a black waistcoat over the creation but that did little to save her modesty.
Daisy, 21, arrived alone but clearly she felt confident enough to wear the racy outfit at the Leicester Square event on what was a wet and rainy night in London.
If anyone could tear their eyes away from the car crash couture, Daisy was also wearing a pair of metallic red-and-silver platform court shoes.
To top off the bizarre look, the brunette managed to outdo Helena Bonham Carter’s bird’s nest hairdo by turning her hair into a frizzy mop.
Other guests at the event included singer Paloma Faith, model Alice Dellal, Lily Cole, Sharon Osbourne and David Walliams.
Along with the films stars Anne Hathaway, Helena Bonham Carter, Mia Wasikowska, Johnny Depp, Barbara Windsor, and Matt Lucas.
It is the second time this week that Daisy has showcased her particular take on fashion
At the Elle Style Awards she wore a daring halter-style dress, a precarious concoction that only just covered her chest.
Daisy is fast becoming the enfant terrible of the fashion world.
She posed nude for a magazine last year, causing her mother Pearl to express her disapproval, and in another shoot for the 2009 Pirelli calendar – she was pictured wearing just a tyre.
Daisy has recently returned from the U.S. to live in London, after admitting living there had left her homesick.
She had moved to New York to further her career but said she failed to make new friends and was ‘lonely’.
