Being in one of the world’s most romantic cities gives most couple a licence to engage in plenty of public displays of affection.
And that’s certainly true of David Walliams and his model fiancee Lara Stone who have not been able to keep their hands off each other as they enjoyed a romantic break in Venice.
After being snapped arm-in-arm, cheek-to-cheek and never far from each others lips over the last couple of days, the newly-engaged couple snuggled up once more as they took a boat ride round the Italian city.

As an avid fitness fanatic who is currently training for a 1,000 mile charity bike ride, Walliams doesn’t even smoke, but didn’t seem to mind being on the receiving end of Stone’s tobacco fumes.
At one stage, he grabbed her smoke-smelling fingertips and gave them a kiss.
The couple arrived in Italy today for a romantic Valentine’s Day weekend.
Wrapped up in jumpers and coats for the chilly winter’s day, the couple were seen enjoying the sights of the ancient canal city.

After checking out St Marco’s Basilica, Walliams and Stone then enjoyed an overpriced cappuccino in one of the cafe’s in St Marco’s Piazza.
But midway between Stone’s coffee and cigarette routine, she put on a public display of affection with her boyfriend.

Walliams, 38, and Stone announced their engagement last month after a whirlwind seven month romance.
After Walliams proposed by placing a ?100,000 vintage Tiffany ring in a burger while on holiday in Los Angeles, the pair are now planning to wed this summer.

Her father, retired company director Michael Stone, 72, had given his blessing to the couple, despite their 12 year age gap.
He told the Daily Mail: ”Lara and David first met in March when they both went to see Chelsea play. I know that then, the last thing she wanted was a boyfriend. But he was so persistent. Lara didn’t know who he was, but he was calling her all the time and sending flowers – so many flowers.
‘He once filled his whole house with flowers as a surprise for her, and then, as a present, he gave her an A-Z guide of London with her initials printed on the front.

‘She was wary of him at first, but David is a real romantic, very different to the characters he plays in Little Britain. He is very serious, but a very caring man and very intelligent. All of our family are thrilled about the news.’
Stone has already spoken of her wish to start a family with the Little Britain funnyman.
She said: ‘I want to have a family and be a good wife, I want a family soon.’
