Claudia Schiffer tries the trend of the moment… but ends up just looking mumsy in A-line denim skirt

She’s one of the most famous supermodels in the world, who has worn her fair share of cutting edge outfits.
But when Claudia Schiffer tried one of the trends of the moment yesterday as she stepped out in an A-line denim skirt, she ended up looking more mumsy than stylish.
The 39-year-old supermodel, who gave birth to her third child in May, wore the outfit as she did the school run in London with husband Matthew Vaughn.
Despite teaming the skirt with a pretty stripes-and-flowers T-shirt, a fringed bag and studded pumps, Claudia still failed to pull the look off.
But the German model isn’t the only star to have experienced a fashion faux pas with the hard-to-wear skirts.
At the recent Louis Vuitton Bond Street store launch, both Gemma Arterton and Alexa Chung arrived in skirts which ended in the middle of their shins – not the most flattering length for any woman.
Stella McCartney’s denim A-line skirt has been extremely popular with women looking for different fashion ideas as the warm weather arrives.
The ?215 button-front denim skirt has even coined the nickname ‘mum chic’, thanks to its similarity to skirts favoured by mothers during the 90s.
Meanwhile, Claudia spoke recently about how becoming a wife and mother has given her a healthier perspective on life.
She recently said: ‘I used to work every single day and travel round the world. I worked weekends, I never took one second off.
‘When I met my husband I said, “You know what, this is important. I’m not going to work weekends any more.”
‘And when I had kids, I became even more careful. Modeling work is fine because you can do one day here, two days there, you’re never long gone.’
