London, Paris, New York, Milan… and now Gatwick: Lily Cole launches airport fashion week

It’s hardly the most glamorous destination for fashionistas – more a necessity when flitting from one style capital to the next.
But that hasn’t stopped Gatwick Airport from launching its very own fashion week.
British model Lily Cole was on hand today to launch the event, which is in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital.
Thousands of passengers watched as she announced the winners of a nationwide modelling contest.
Tessa Maye and David Searle, who have each won a coveted contract with Storm Model Management, were cheered as they walked the catwalk for the very first time.

Over the coming weekend top stylist Kirsty Drury, who has worked with Kylie Minogue and Claudia Schiffer, will be working her magic on passengers using stock from the airport’s fashion retailers.
Top make-up artists from MAC, hair experts from GHD and manicurists from Boots No7 are also on hand to add finishing touches to passengers’ summer makeovers free of charge.
