The Australian supermodel Elle Macpherson launches her new collection of ‘Intimates’.
Elle Macpherson, the Australian model-turned-lingerie tycoon, is launching a new collection of underwear specifically designed to be worn under T-shirts.
The new collection is called, appropriately, ‘Bare and Bold’ – which could be seen as a reference to the classic black and white shot of the Australian supermodel photographed nude by Herb Ritts in 1994 for Playboy, one of a series of shots sold at the Christie’s auction in New York earlier this month, to mark the magazine’s 50th anniversary.

‘Bare and Bold’, which will go on sale on January 3, features a collection of T-shirt bras made from a slinky knit fabric over expertly-moulded cups, in mouthwatering shades of strawberry, lemon-drop and pistachio, together with classic jet-black, white and beige.
The bras are available in plunge-cup, push-up and underwired styles, as well as a strapless option with detachable halter-neck straps. There is also a range of matching briefs designed with a double-layer fold-back to prevent the dreaded VPL (visible panty line) showing under clothes.
“I wanted to ensure this collection was functional and comfortable under clothes while still being desirable,” Elle Macpherson explained. “Lingerie is an emotional purchase for women even when it comes to the T-shirt bra. The fit, style and look must be perfect. ‘Bare and Bold’ offers the ultimate silhouette regardless of the profile you choose.”
The bras come in sizes 32-36 A to D cup, at ?40 (the convertible strapless bra is ?42), while the briefs, in sizes s-l, are ?22.
The Elle Macpherson Intimates label was first launched 1990. Over the last two decades, the supermodel who became famous as ‘The Body’ has masterminded her image and name into a global lifestyle brand, which encompasses underwear for both men and women, loungewear, boudoir couture, and body products.
