Claudia Schiffer decides to carry new daughter Cosima in her arms during a stroll through London
Proud new mother Claudia Schiffer stepped out with her new daughter in her arms today.
The supermodel, 39, was pictured walking through London carrying one-month old Cosima wrapped in a lightweight blanket.
It was a slightly unusual sight, as most mothers put their babies in pushchairs when travelling by foot – or carry them in slings.
Claudia covered her post-baby figure with a long flowing summer dress over a pair of black leggings and her favourite pair of flat ankle boots.
She accessorised with a small brown shoulder bag and a scarf.
Little Cosima was born on May 14, she is the model’s third child with partner Matthew Vaughan.
The couple already have son Caspar, seven, and daughter Clementine, five.
Cosima is derived from the Greek word kosmos which means order or decency.
Soon after the birth a spokesman for Claudia said: ‘Mum and daughter are now home and doing fine.’
They waited until the whole family met their new daughter before announcing her name at the end of last month.
Although she lives in London, Claudia says she would love to spend some time in her native Germany while Matthew is working on a new X-Men movie.
Claudia has credited becoming a wife and motherhood for giving her a healthier perspective on life.
She recently said: ‘I used to work every single day and travel round the world. I worked weekends, I never took one second off.
‘When I met my husband I said, “You know what, this is important. I’m not going to work weekends any more.”
‘And when I had kids, I became even more careful. Modeling work is fine because you can do one day here, two days there, you’re never long gone.’
The new arrival came just after she ‘did a Demi’ by posing naked with her bump on the front cover of German Vogue.
She also posed for a number of sexy shots inside, including one with a mask and sexy black underwear.
