Stick-thin 1960s British supermodel, Twiggy, says many of today’s models, actresses and celebrities are too skinny.
“It’s very worrying,” Twiggy said in Los Angeles.
The 57-year-old pop icon has called on fashion magazines to ban unhealthily skinny models and for the modelling industry to be regulated.
Born Lesley Hornby, but given the nickname Twiggy for her reed-thin body, said she was naturally skinny when she revolutionised the fashion world in the late 1960s.
“When I was modelling through 16 to 20, when I got blamed for making kids want to be thin, I ate absolutely everything, but I was naturally skinny,” she said.
“I ate, but I had a really high metabolism.”
Today, many models, actresses and women in the public eye have lost large amounts of weight and Twiggy, without naming names, says it is easy to spot them.
“You get what I call the lollypop look,” she said.
“If somebody is not naturally slender, if their head is too big for their body, the chances are they are dieting too much.”
It is not just Hollywood’s young women that concern her, with Twiggy pointing to well-known actresses beyond their 20s who appear to be starving themselves.
“A lot of them aren’t girls,” Twiggy continued.
“They are women. You can’t believe somebody in their 30s and 40s would want to do that or go there.
“It’s incredible really.”
Twiggy is using her new job as a judge on reality TV show, America’s Next Top Model, seen in Australia on Foxtel’s FOX8 channel, to help educate young wannabe models about the dangers of crash diets.
Along with the show’s host and founder, American supermodel Tyra Banks, Twiggy pulls contestants who appear to have lost too much weight during the pressure of the competition aside for counselling.
“Tyra’s really good about that,” Twiggy said. “She really is.”
Twiggy wants other influential players to step in.
“I think some of the fashion magazines should take a little bit more control of it and maybe not feature anyone who looks unhealthy and the modelling industry should be regulated,” she said.

James Blunt and Petra Nemcova are still going strong, despite recent reports the couple had split. Media reports earlier this month suggested supermodel Nemcova had hooked up with hip-hop mogul and fellow activist Russell Simmons.
However, Nemcova has slammed the split reports, telling American publication People, “We’re very much in love. We never got separated. There was some stuff in the press, but it didn’t come from a right source – obviously.”
Nemcova, 27 and Blunt, 32, were spotted hand-in-hand last week when they hit the club scene at Hollywood’s Hyde Lounge. The couple met in December 2005 and started dating shortly afterward.

Supermodel Naomi Campbell condemned what she described as discrimination against gypsies in Slovenia.
Commenting on anti-gypsy protests and a Slovenian government-arranged relocation of a large gypsy family, Campbell told Ljubljana’s Finance newspaper it’s sad such things are happening in Europe.
While visiting Ljubljana Monday, Campbell said gypsies are “people with the rights and duties as all other citizens, and nobody must discriminate them in any way,” the radio report said.
Slovenia’s police director-general Monday fired Branko Slak, Ljubljana’s police chief, for oversights in handling anti-gypsy protests during which a number of protesters were injured.
Earlier this month, Slovenian Prime Minister Janez Jansa said the government plans to build a new settlement for the relocated gypsy family of 31 members, including 14 children.
Villagers have blocked approaches leading to Ambrus, southeast of Ljubljana, from where the gypsy family was moved to a former military barracks after residents threatened to kill them late in October.

One of the fashion industry’s top designers, Stella McCartney, has criticized not only her fellow designers but high profiled celebrities as well for their use of fur. The daughter of legendary Beatles member Paul McCartney, Stella wants the trend to end.
Sales of real fur have spiked 30 percent in Britain over the past two years and worldwide sales have hit $13.5 billion.
With runways still being filled with animal pelts by top designers like Jean-Paul Gaultier, Julien Macdonald and Alexander McQueen the style has enjoyed a resurgence despite recent campaigns against the fashion.
McCartney, 35, was said to have told a newspaper “There’s nothing fashionable about a dead animal that has been cruelly killed just because some people think it looks cool to wear.”
Among the people on that list are some of the top celebrities in the world. Both Nicole Richie and Kate Moss have recently been seen in real fur while silver screen starlet Keira Knightley, hotel heiress Paris Hilton and party-girl Lindsay Lohan have all donned real fur as well.

It seems Kate Moss off late has started suffering from the ‘Dorian Gray’ syndrome, for she has reportedly hung up mirrors all over her house to monitor any signs of wrinkles.
The supermodel, 32, is paranoid she is starting to lose her youthful looks, and is determined to take all posiible measures to slow the ageing process.
Moss, apart from having mirrors, drinks two litres of water a day, eats organic food, has detox days every month and is scheduling early bedtimes.
“The paranoia about her age is creeping in. Her big issue is stopping wrinkles and she knows her skin can appear spotty,’ Hollywood Rag quoted a source, as telling Britain’s Grazia magazine.
“She has mirrors all over her house and keeps examining her face in a magnified one under different lights to check how her skin is ageing. Pete just thinks it’s ridiculous and constantly reassures her that she’s gorgeous,” the source added.
Meanwhile, Kate Moss – who is currently the face of makeup company Rimmel, is also thinking of encashing in on her new found image by turning into an entrepreneur, with a new range of her own beauty products.

British supermodel Naomi Campbell wants to start a family. The 36-year-old actress believes that it is time to settle down and have children.
According to Grazia Magazine, the celebrity mode;, who has dated mkany other stars, including, Usher, Robert DeNiro and Sylvester Stallone, wants to have a baby, but cannot keep a man due to her fiery temperament.
A source revealed, “Naomi has always had a reputation of being demanding but there are many reasons why she’s struggled to settle down. When she became famous, she was allowed to behave like a needy child and had people like Gianni Versace protecting her. Getting older means she has to deal with her issues.”
The source added, “She is beginning to realise that her biological clock is ticking.”
Last week, Naomi Campbell went to court to face charges of assault. She apparently hit one of her former assistants on the head with a cordless phone.

Supermodel Heidi Klum and singer Seal announced Thursday they were the proud new parents of a son, born in Los Angeles. Johan Riley Fyodor Taiwo Samuel was born Wednesday at 5:01 p.m. and “looks just like his mother,” the supermodel’s Web site said. He weighed in at just under nine pounds.
Young Johan is Klum’s third child and Seal’s second. The couple married last year and say they are perfectly happy in their domesticated new life.
German supermodel Heidi Klum, 33, and husband Seal Samuel, 43, disclosed on Klum’s website Thursday the birth in Los Angeles of Klum’s third child. The British singer Seal said the 3.932-kilogram baby, Johan Riley Fyodor Taiwo Samuel, was born Wednesday and “looks just like his mother.”
“To our children, a brother. To our parents, a grandson. To my wife and I, a son. To our family, a blessing. He is healthy, beautiful and looks just like his mother.”
The couple had their first son, Henry Guenther Ademola Dashtu Samuel, in September 2005. Before their May 2005 marriage, a daughter, Leni, now 2, was fathered by Italian Formula 1 manager Flavio Briatore. The German supermodel was pregnant with Briatore’s child when she started dating her husband-to-be and has frequently said that Seal, who was by her side when her daughter was born, has always treated Leni as if she was his own little girl. The Samuel-Klum family lives mainly in New York but spends part of the year at Klum’s home in the town of Bergisch Gladbach near Cologne, where the model’s father is her manager.
Klum mainly works as a face in product advertising and as a TV personality and recently released a Christmas recording, Wonderland. She fronted a German TV show this year in which young girls were trained to become fashion models. Some critics said it misled girls. She is to front a second series soon.

We did some research and found Henry Günther Ademola Dashtu Samuel is named after his father, whose birth-name is actually Sealhenry Olusegun Olumide Adeola Samuel, Heidi’s father Günther, Seal’s father Ademola and after a naval slang for the second plane in a two-aircraft formation, the Dash Two.
Klum and Seal were wed on May 10, 2005, on a beach in Mexico. Klum has previously married celebrity hairstylist Ric Pipino on September 6, 1997. The couple divorced in November 2002. She has also dated Red Hot Chili Peppers frontman Anthony Kiedis and musician John Mayer.

His parents were Adebisi Samuel, a Nigerian immigrant, and Francis Samuel, an Afro-Brazilian immigrant. A childhood battle with discoid lupus left him with distinctive facial scarring and hair loss. He studied architecture and engineering in school. He is fond of German supermodels: Seal had had a long-term relationship with German supermodel, Tatjana Patitz. Seal also briefly dated supermodel Tyra Banks.

Decked out in cheap gold chains and a garish blue tracksuit top, Kate Moss was barely recognisable during her theatrical debut last night.
Away from the glamour of the catwalk, the supermodel embraced her role as the sister of Britain’s favourite chav Vicky Pollard with apparent ease.
Moss joined Little Britain stars David Walliams and Matt Lucas for a cameo appearance at the Hammersmith Apollo in London for a Comic Relief version of the famous television comedy series. Details of her role were kept under wraps before she appeared shellsuited pal of “yeah but no but” teenager Vicky Pollard. Walliams persuaded Moss to take part after she and boyfriend Pete Doherty went to see a Little Britain show.
Standing next to Lucas, she mimicked his expressions of a delinquent teenager.
Moss then joined the Little Britain star next to a line of six buggies, posing as a teenage mum on benefits. “I’ve known Kate socially for a little while and she and Pete came to our show one night and liked it,” he said.
“So we thought, let’s be cheeky and see if we can convince her, and she was up for it.
“It’ll be a speaking role but I don’t want to give too much away. When you see her and what she’ll be wearing and doing, it’ll be a big surprise.” Walliams believes the supermodel has a flair for comedy.
“The thing about Kate is that she’s funny in her own right so we think it’ll be brilliant,” he said.
Russell Brand and Jonathan Ross will also appear in the comedy show. All proceeds will go to Comic Relief.
Walliams raised ?1 million for the cause earlier this year by swimming the English Channel.

Wannabe-fashion-model Paris Hilton regurgitated on stage as she attempted to lip-sync to one of her own songs.
According to IMDB, the incident took place at a Los Angeles nightclub and was witnessed by singer Joshua Radin, who was there to watch rapper Jay-Z perform.
On his MySpace site, Radin describes the events leading up to Hilton’s hurling: “Paris, who had been swilling straight vodka from [a] Grey Goose bottle for hours, gets up on stage, has the people in charge throw her ‘record’ on the house stereo for her to lip sync two of her songs. She gets up on the stage, pukes, leaves…”
