Sabina Johansson, a stunningly attractive 23-year-old Swedish model, has been swept up in the bust of Big Daddy Lou’s Hot Lap Dance Club on W. 38th Street in Manhattan where she allegedly worked as a house madam for a prostitution ring.
Prominent attorney Lou ‘Big Daddy’ Posner, was also arrested and charged with promoting prostitution at the club, according to court records.
Johansson, who has appeared in an Avril Lavigne music video and on the Tyra Banks Show, was arrested July 24, the NY Daily News reports. Her arrest raises new concerns over how young fashion models can fall into lines of work that exploit their looks and vulnerability.
On June 28, Russian model Ruslana Korshunova, 20, fell to her death from her Manhattan apartment amid a swirl of rumors that she was involved in a vicious ring that exploited young foreign models. Her death was officially ruled a suicide.
Johansson has denied knowing about the sex-for-sale activities going on in the private rooms of the club, but investigators say she was in on the business.
NYPD vice unit officers posing as patrons claim Johansson greeted them at the club and hinted they could expect sex from lap dancers if the price was right. “Defendant told [the undercover officer] that she was aware prostitution activity was going on at the club in its private rooms,” according to court records.
One undercover officer claimed prostitution was widespread. “On each occasion, he received offers from scantily clad female lap dancers working at the club to engage in sexual conduct, including intercourse, in exchange for money in the private rooms of the club,” court records say.
As the house mom, Johansson allegedly collected nightly fees of up to $80 from the club’s 120 dancers, scheduled shifts and rented out the private rooms and suites, prosecutors claim. Johansson could not be reached for comment.
A grand jury is hearing evidence in the case and could indict Posner and others as early as next week.

Top model Naomi Campbell (38) gave onlookers a sexy striptease when she went topless while sunbathing aboard her millionaire boyfriend’s yacht in San Tropez.
Campbell was vacationing in the Cote d’Azur with her boyfriend, Russian millionaire Vladislav Doronin. The notoriously bad-tempered supermodel has a rep for throwing violent fits, but there was no sign of bitchy diva antics as Naomi looked relaxed and peaceful while stretched out on deck.
She even decided to lose her bikini top to score the perfect tan, to the joy of the paparazzi and her boyfriend.
She might be getting close to 40, but Naomi can still pass for 20 – from the neck down at least.

Agyness Deyn is reportedly considering moving in with new boyfriend Albert Hammond Jr, just a month after the couple were first linked.
A source told the Daily Mail that with her recent rise in status, the supermodel is looking for a new home in New York: “Albert is helping Agyness find a place.
“She is close to signing the deeds on a plush loft space in Brooklyn and if the deal goes through, Albert has asked her if she wants to live with him in between moves.
“It’s very serious.”
Agyness split from long-term boyfriend Josh Hubbard at the start of June.

SUPERMODEL Gisele Bundchen and quarterback Tom Brady have both re-listed their former Manhattan pads.
Ms Bundchen, who is the world’s highest paid catwalk queen, has been hit by the housing slump after the American economy’s recent downturn, and is failing to sell her penthouse pad, reports the Wall Street Journal.
She is now asking $5.9 million for her West Village penthouse, a bit more than half of her original asking price last September.
Her boyfriend, the New England Patriots quarterback, wants $18.29 million for his Time Warner Center condominium, roughly 10% more than he asked last year.

Paris Hilton ditches her blonde California girl look to become a gothic fantasy villain in her latest film role. Repo! The Genetic Opera is based on the stage show of the same name and is set in 2056, when an epidemic of organ failures threatens the future of mankind.
The film stars Buffy The Vampire Slayer actor Anthony Head as Repo Man, a skilled assassin paid to track down former organ donation receivers who can’t keep up with their payments and ‘recover’ the organs owned by biotech firm GeneCo.
Sarah Brightman is the leading vocal strength in the movie, playing Blind Mag, who is marked for repossession after she fails to keep up her with repayments to GeneCo for her eyes.
Hilton plays Amber Sweet, the daughter of dying GeneCo president Rotti (Paul Sorvino) who battles her brothers Luigi and Pavi to inherit the company after their father’s death.
The socialite dons a black wig, leather bondage gear and dramatic make-up to play surgery-obsessed Amber Sweet in Repo!: The Genetic Opera.
After failing to wow critics in previous acting efforts in House Of Wax and The Hottie & The Nottie, Hilton has ditched the teen movies in a bid to prove herself as a serious actress.
In one sequence from the movie, Hilton sings breathily to local drug lord, The Grave-Robber (Terrance Zdunich), who injects her with a chemical in her inner thigh.
Despite reports director Darren Lynn Bousman was initially sceptical about Hilton’s talent, he said: ‘I have auditioned at least 30 actresses for this role - Paris came in and owned it. She is this role.
‘We saw many actresses for the role, and Paris sang it better than all of them.’
The film isn’t due for release until the autumn and while critics are already hailing the rock musical as a cult hit, there has been mixed response over Hilton’s minor role.
John Anderson, critics for U.S. trade paper Variety, said: ‘Paris Hilton, who delivers a limited but thoroughly appropriate performance in a movie in which almost everything is inappropriate.’
Horror fansite DreadCentral.com’s Andrew Kasch wrote: ‘The addition of Paris Hilton will be the media focal point but for all the wrong reasons. She’s actually quite good here, playing a send-up of herself as Largo’s spoiled, surgery-addicted daughter.’
The film marks Hilton’s first on-screen singing role since her attempt to launch a pop career two years ago.
Despite her debut single Stars Are Blind reaching no.6 in the U.S. Billboard charts, sales of the single and accompanying album were disappointing.
Her eponymous named album sold 607,000 copies in the U.S.
Hilton plans to record a more dance-orientated follow up album later this year.

She’s notorious for her fiery temper, but yesterday Naomi Campbell put her tender side on show during a romantic cruise with billionaire Russian Vladislav Doronin.
The supermodel, dressed in a black string bikini, showered her beau with kisses and hugs as they soaked up the sun in St Tropez aboard his luxury yacht, Lady In Blue.
The pair’s relationship has become increasingly serious after Naomi introduced Doronin to 12 of her most trusted friends at a dinner party in the South of France last month.
With an estimated ?1.5billion fortune, the 46-year-old a property tycoon has a penchant for high-living and beautiful women that has earned him the nickname of Moscow’s Donald Trump.
His property projects include Moscow City, a spectacular Canary Wharf-style development that is helping transform the once-poor city into a glamorous destination.
Naomi, 38, met him at the Cannes Film Festival in May, shortly after the outburst on a British Airways flight that led to her arrest, and they have been inseparable ever since.
One of Naomi’s guests, Brazilian writer Bruno Astuto, said: ‘She said it was love at first sight and he is completely in love with her. Watching them look deeply into each other’s eyes, it was obvious that this is a very serious affair.
‘He thinks she is a goddess and Naomi believes she finally has found the right man. She is now planning a really big party for Vlad, where we hope they will announce their engagement.’
The secretive oligarch - previously wrongly identified as Brazilian Marcus Elias - attended the recent London dinner for Nelson Mandela’s 90th birthday, where Naomi was also a guest.
Naomi’s tempestuous love life has also included a romance with motor-racing tycoon Flavio Briatore and one engagement, to U2 bassist Adam Clayton.

She’s no stranger to turning heads, but supermodel Petra Nemcova only had eyes for one man in the south of France.
The stunning 29-year-old enjoyed a passionate clinch with her boyfriend Bader Jafar on a St Tropez street.
Earlier this week the blonde Czech, who has modelled for Victoria’s Secret and La Senza, was spotted smooching and dancing the night away with Bader in the VIP Room club in the French Riviera town.
The couple certainly appear to be enjoying each others’ company and don’t seem to care who is watching them.
Petra split with British singer James Blunt last year.
She also caused a stir in February when she arrived at the Oscars with U.S. actor Sean Penn, 47, who had then temporarily split with his wife of 11 years Robin Wright Penn.
The Sports Illustrated model was previously engaged to British photographer Simon Atlee, who died during the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami while the couple were in Thailand.
Petra suffered serious injuries in the same disaster and was hospitalised.

Kate Moss reportedly has been plans for her summer holiday in Ibiza with on-again boyfriend Jamie Hince - she wants to get pregnant.
Last month, the supermodel was spotted getting clucky with a fan’s baby and a source close to the couple told the Mirror that Kate’s five year old daughter Lila Grace is also keen to have a younger sibling: “Kate is keen to have another baby before Lila Grace gets any older. She doesn’t want her to grow up a single child.
“Lila even calls Sadie Frost’s little girl Iris her sister because she wants one so much, which has made Kate feel guilty.”
But guitarist Jamie isn’t quite so keen: “It has become a real sticking point between her and Jamie. She thinks he will be a great dad - but he has been unsure whether he’s ready for such a huge commitment.
“But after Jamie spoke to some of his female mates about his dilemma, he is coming round to thinking a baby with Kate wouldn’t be a bad thing.”
The couple had a few weeks apart earlier in the month after a heated argument over Jamie’s friendship with his The Kills bandmate Alison Mosshart and the source added: “Jamie couldn’t see why Kate would feel threatened by his relationship with Alison.
“His mates had to shake him into seeing why Kate felt threatened by a beautiful woman hanging around her bloke all the time.
“Thankfully he agreed to be more open about what he is up to. And he is even warming to the idea of becoming a dad.
“No one would be surprised if Kate comes back pregnant.”
