Elle Macpherson ends 2008 as water princess

LOOKING every inch the good sort at 45, Elle Macpherson and her family headed out on to the water yesterday and spent the last day of 2008 at sea – appropriate given the way the year turned out for some members of the family.
Most comfortable on the waves was former whale-watcher Mimi, who was looking a little pink in the cheek at day’s end.
Also in the party was family patriarch Peter Gow, brother Ben and his wife Belynda and their toddler son Xander.
The family chartered a boat that cruised the waters of Yowie Bay before transporting the group to Bundeena on Port Hacking.
The recently bankrupted Mimi proved that despite her financial woes, she could still rustle together the means to buy a gift, turning up with a large white box with a red bow – thought to be a gift for her sister.
While Mimi’s financial setbacks have been well documented in the press of late, giving her good cause to turn over a new leaf financially in 2009, Elle also has good reason to put 2008 behind her.
Her ex, “Arkie” Busson, the cad, held out for years in refusing to marry the ex-supermodel and mother of his two sons and then turned around this year and popped the question to film star Uma Thurman.
Elle won’t want for offers in the new year. Perhaps restaurateur Dave Evans could drop her a line.
