Miranda Kerr tells of being stranded in South Australian outback
August 26th, 2009
In this month’s the Adelaide* magazine, Miranda Kerr opens her photo diary of that experience, set against the backdrop of the Gawler Ranges, giving us an exclusive peek into her remote South Aussie adventure.
Turns out the gorgeous girl from Gunnedah was no princess, bunking down in the shearers’ quarters with the crew, even sharing a bathroom, and making the most of her unexpected downtime.“It was a privilege to spend time on stations like Mount Ive, where the local families pitched in to make us welcome. Comforting home cooking and a roaring fire every evening made it unforgettable,” she says. “I’m just a country girl at heart.”
Also in Adelaide* magazine tomorrow, go inside three new underground drinking holes.
First up is R Bar on O’Connell, the exclusive cellar door of R Wines (home of the infamous Bitch Grenache). Enter through a non-descript door and wind through a series of wine barrels to the office space meets graffiti den.
Next, visit Ambar in the heart of the CBD. This refurbished hide-out under The Ambassador Hotel is a great spot for an after-work tipple, with plenty of intimate booths, deluxe nibbles and a smooth jazz soundtrack.
Lastly, uncover Bartini, a tiny nook above the Electric Light Hotel licensed for just 45 people.
Find out more about these hot new pit-stops, as well as the best in local fashion, interiors, food, people and entertainment, plus the outback adventure with Miranda Kerr – all in the September issue of the Adelaide* magazine, out tomorrow.
