Bar Refaeli accused of dodging Israel’s taxes

Leonardo DiCaprio’s on-off girlfriend supermodel Bar Refaeli has been accused of dodging taxes in her native Israel. The catwalk beauty previously came under fire for getting out of military service in the country, reports the New York Post. Now her lawyers have been working to declare her a non-resident so she can get a tax break, according to reports.
“That would save her hundreds of thousands of shekels a year,” Israeli paper Haaretz reports. However, the Israel Tax Authority has countered with a demand for large amounts in unpaid back taxes. It argues that the 24-year-old’’s home is Israel even if her company is registered in Singapore, her bank accounts are offshore and she spends more than half the year abroad.
