Heidi Klum launches her maternity range… but for once, she isn’t pregnant
After being pregnant four times in the space of six years, Heidi Klum was a natural choice to design her own maternity ranges.
But as she promoted her Lavish and Loved collections for A Pea In The Pod and Motherhood Maternity in Beverly Hills last night, she was noticeably without a bump for once.
The German supermodel, 36, stood out among pregnant celebrities at the ‘Moms To Be Night Out’ party in her figure-hugging white and yellow tunic mini-dress and a pair of killer Christian Louboutin heels most expectant mothers wouldn’t dare wear.
Klum created the two lines, Loved and Lavish for the two maternity firms online and in store earlier this year, just a few months after giving birth to her fourth child Lou.
She explained: ‘I experienced fashion challenges during my four pregnancies and combined my knowledge of what works in terms of style, comfort and practicality to create these lines.
‘They are all about making you feel beautiful inside and out; being pregnant shouldn’t stop you from being fashionable and feeling great about your changing body. It’s an exciting journey.’
Joining Klum at the glitzy bash at the A Pea In The Pod store in Beverly Drive last night were expectant celebrities, including Wonder Years star Danica McKellar and Full House star Jodie Sweetin.
Also in attendance was Dawson’s Creek actor James Van Der Beek and his pregnant fiancée Kimberly Brook.
McKellar, 35, who famously played Winnie Cooper in the cult Eighties show, is expecting her first child with husband Mike Verta in the autumn.
The actress-turned-mathematician, who is four months pregnant, showed off the tiny hint of a baby bump in a blue empire-line dress.
Although she doesn’t know the sex of the baby, McKellar admitted she had ‘a feeling’ it was a boy.
After giving birth to four children in the space of five years, Klum admitted her husband ‘finds me the most beautiful when I’m pregnant’.
The couple started dating in 2004 while Klum was pregnant with her first child, from her relationship with ex-F1 boss Flavio Briatore.
Sixteen months after Leni was born, the couple welcomed their first son Henry in September 2005, followed by Johan 14 months later and finally daughter Lou last October.
However, Klum insisted she is now finished with the babymaking, admitting the couple have their hands full with all their children.
She said: ‘We’re outnumbered. Four is perfect. Three is a lot. But four? It’s a lot of work. We’re hands-on, and we feel like this is what we can handle.
‘I always love being pregnant. I love everything about it. I love going to the hospital and having babies, I love everything.
‘That’s it for us. Four is a lot. They’re all very close in age, so they keep us busy.’
