World’s Sexiest Woman 2011 was to fat for the fashion business

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley started her modeling career when she was 16 years old. In 2006, she began to model for the American lingerie line Victoria’s Secret and made her runway debut with the brand in its 2006 Fashion Show. Her biggest success in the modeling industry occurred in 2008, when she replaced Agyness Deyn for Burberry’s fall/winter collection.

This year, the British beauty was voted Number 1 in Maxim magazine’s “Hot 100” list and was also voted first place in FHM’s World’s Sexiest Women 2011 poll.

But to achieve this triumph in the fashion business wasn’t an easy task for Rosie, as she revealed to British ELLE magazine in a new interview. At the beginning of her modeling career, she was told by fashion executives that she had ‘baby fat’ and needed to shed pounds to be a success.

‘When I started modelling, I was definitely heavier,’ she told ELLE magazine in their July issue.
‘I was quite voluptuous in fact. I had a real baby face and baby fat.
‘But I was a baby! I was told I had to get into better shape, but I’m quite stubborn, so I didn’t.’
‘I can’t remember a time where I really battled with my body, but I can remember being asked to lose weight and battling with the advice,’ she added.
‘It hurt me. Especially as my baby fat naturally melted away as I got older.’
‘It’s important your body is strong and toned and can take that battering.’
