Kate’s couture return to the Ritz Paris

For the April issue of Vogue US, Kate Moss played a modern Marie Antoinette in couture outfits at Coco Chanel’s suit at the Ritz Paris. Dressed in dreamy colors and extravagant shapes, the supermodel managed a perfect fit into Tim Walker’s, her photographer of the day, sweet and eccentric style.
Giving another modelling lesson to her footsteps’ followers, Moss stroke the most amazing poses to showcase the most recent haute couture collections of Christian Dior, Alexis Mabille, Alexander McQueen, Chanel, Givenchy by Riccardo Tisci, Balenciaga, Armani Prive and Giambattista Valli. From sweet like a flower blossom to femme fatale sultry, Kate floats in beautiful moves that result in stunning pictures.
This editorial shooting was the last for the next two years, since the magnificent hotel closed its doors for a renovation right after the photos were all taken. This renovation is said to be the most expensive since the hotel was founded in the late 1800s.
The whole nostalgic mood of the shooting made her go back in time to the days she used to stay at the Ritz Paris with Johnny Depp, her boyfriend at the time: “He always stayed there,” she said. “I had an apartment in Paris at the time, but he said, ‘No, we’re staying at the Ritz,’ so he came by and swept me up to the Ritz – he didn’t want to slum it in my apartment”. Kate also recalls The Ritz cocktails as her favorite thing about it: “I drink the French 76: vodka, sugar, lemon juice topped up with champagne; it’s the best drink ever, but it only tastes like that in the Hemingway Bar. Colin [Field, Ritz Paris’ head bartender] made it for my wedding. It doesn’t taste at all strong – and then, whoa, whoops-a-daisy!”
