Abbey Lee Kershaw slams Tom Cruise “relationship rumours.”
Abbey Lee Kershaw, Australian supermodel, has hit back at rumours claiming it is “ridiculous,” that she and Tom Cruise had an intimate relationship while promoting his upcoming film, Rock of Ages.
In the film, Tom Cruise, plays a rockstar character named Stacee Jaxx. During the promo shoot for the cover of W Magazine´s May Issue, Tom is seen posing with Kershaw and top model Edita Vilkeviciute. A tattooed Cruise is shown striped to the waist with the two models draped over him. A very rockstar pose folks.
The tabloid, National Enquirer, has used the photos to suggest that Cruise and Kershaw were intimately involved and that the “raunchy photos will tear the Cruise marriage apart.”
Chic Management which represents Kershaw has denied the rumours. “The shoot took place several months ago and it is totally ridiculous to suggest or intimate that Abbey´s relationship with Tom Cruise is anything but completely professional.”
To set things straight, Tom himself has addressed the rumours. He had this to say. “I hear it, I read it, I get it. But life is not a matter of trying to prove anything to anybody.”
Married to Katie Holmes he has this to say about her. “She is an extraordinary person and if you spent five minutes with her, you´d see it.” Well then, it looks like he is still in love after all these years and just squashed the rumour.
Let´s take a look at the tabloid, “National Enquirer.” Who hasn´t heard of the tabloid famous for its focus on murders, sex and celebrity gossip? It uses “Sensationalism” and “heart-stopping headlines” to catch the reader´´s imagination and attention with gossip as its primary goal and curiosity does the rest. The tabloid does have a winning concept though. It uses photos of celebrities to get the gossip wheel moving. But making money off celebrities does come with a high price as the numerous lawsuits against “National Enquirer,” has proven.
Coming back to Tom Cruise. Who could ever forget him in Risky Business jiving to Bob Seger´s “Old Time Rock n Roll?” Dressed only in a shirt, socks, underwear and with his signature dark sunglasses he became every teenage girl´s dreamboat. With that cocky dance Tom Cruise cinched his place in stardom history. Now, it looks like he is ready to do that again in his new film, Rock of Ages. Showing ripped abs, tattoos and muscles, the almost 50 star shows that he has still got it. Star appeal that is.
As for the rumours, it seems that they are just rumours. To another 50 Tom and keep doing what you do best. We´re looking for more memorable scenes.
