Paris Couture Week stunned by Jean Paul Gautier

In this Paris Couture Week another designer who has raised evil toungues was Jean Paul Gautier and he proved that althought he’s 60, he’s still able to go over the edge. So, he’s choosen the British musician Pete Doherty as his muse. The designer has already met him at his stint as a Cannes Film Festival jury member this year and he immediately said “my god he is so seductive, a decadent dandy. And that’s my collection.”

The result was a theatrical scene. Another surprise of the collection was the “femi-man” model Andrej Pejic, who paraded on the runaway wearing a gauzy black top that revealed his chest; the black colour was broken up with explosions colour like: red or yellow and bright fox fur.

Gautier was also able to get some inspiration from a silent movie from 1927, which was “Metropolis” by Fritz Lang and he put on a parade inspired also to some characters. The shoulderless jumpsuit which completed the ensemble had the broken sheen of scrubbed metal that could be seen in the character of Mechanical Maria. Then, he added conical bra, art deco prints while a projector was projecting scenes of old movies behind the model.
