Vera Wang’s new fashion line

The queen of bridal gowns and couture wear is veering off in a different direction and is about to dress teenagers as only she knows how.

Vera Wang’s new collection for children and teenagers is being called what else but “Princess Vera Wang,” and it’s no coincidence that the collection has hit the stores just in time for the back-to-school shopping sprees. Good PR and marketing tactic there.

The clothing line is wearable, hip and affordable with prices ranging from $16 – $98 and is available exclusively at Kohl’s. Some of the items featured are sequined miniskirts, graphic T-shirts and tulle-trimmed knitwear that is geared to catch the fashion conscious eyes of the teenage set. Vera had this to say about her line, “It was important to me that the Princess Vera Wang collection be versatile and speaks to a new generation of young women, giving them the freedom to express their unique sense of personal style.” In line with the launch of the clothing line, she has also launched a nationwide model contest in search of a fresh face to serve as Princess Vera Wang’s 2013 campaign girl.

Vera Wang was the former fashion editor of American Vogue and left the magazine in 1987 after she was turned down for the editor-in-chief position currently occupied by Anna Wintour. Since then she has been building her design empire and has dressed many A-list brides including Jennifer Garner, Kate Hudson, Sharon Stone just some of the who’s who of the showbiz world.

Her name is synonymous with high-fashion and creative designing and she knows what sells so there’s no doubt that this new clothing line will be a mega-hit.
