Paris Hilton jets to Hawaii hoping to put her “gay slam” comments behind her

Hotel heiress, Paris Hilton, came under fire earlier this month for making gay slur comments while traveling in a taxi on September 7 in New York city and opened up a wasp’s nest by saying, “Ewww, Eww. To get F***ed? Gay guys are the horniest people in the world. They’re disgusting Dude, most of them probably have AIDS…I would be so scared if I were a gay guy. You’ll like die of AIDS.” Those were the comments in a nutshell but it was enough to start the ball rolling and to have it deemed as “homophobic and derogatory,” by many.

That caused the proverbial sweet smile on her face to slip a little but just a little. As we know nothing much disrupts Paris and she has grown to take criticism well. The model turned designer turned DJ, just some of the credits to her name, was seen jetting out of Los Angeles on Friday. Travel destination? Hawaii. She decided to put it all behind her as she walked through LAX dressed in a blue maxi strapless dress and accessorised with a big black floppy hat and her favourite shades wearing that “Hey…” smile on her face. She was accompanied by 21-year-old model boyfriend River Viperi. Later she tweeted: “Just landed on a magical island with @RiverViiperi. Can’t wait to go surfing tomorrow!”

Before leaving Los Angeles, she did issue a statement stating that the comments were “in no way towards the entire community.” The apology came in this form. “I was having this private conversation with a friend of mine who is gay and our conversation was in no way towards the entire gay community. It is the last that I would ever want to do and I cannot put into words how much I wish I could take back every word. Gay people are the strongest and most inspiring people I know. It is so wrong when people bully or put down others for being gay. No one should have to go through that.”

Hmmm……meanwhile, Paris is trying to put the controversy behind her and was seen on a beach in Hawaii dressed in an itsy bitsy pink bikini, doing what she does best, flaunting her god-given great figure and a new boyfriend at her side. We will leave it at that.
