Scarlett Johansson is the face of Dolce & Gabbana


She’s done it again. This time around, Scarlett Johansson has been chosen to represent Dolce & Gabbana’s new fragrance, The One Desire. Johansson has been the go-to model for the Italian label and has been doing a marvelous job fronting their campaigns.

The ad shot by Terry Richardson features a sultry looking Johansson posing with smoky eyes accentuated with gold and holding up a black and gold bottle of “Desire” and wearing a strapless black dress. Mr Gabbana says that “black and gold are classic colours for Dolce & Gabbana” and the chunky sleek design of the bottle is supposed to make it “desirable and exquisite” to women. The fragrance itself is described as “a new blockbuster fragrance” by Vice President, Luigi Feola. He added, “This scent is for the woman who wants to feel unique, beautiful and sensual. She owns the room when she enters. She’s not just noticed, she attracts the attention of everybody and is sexy but not vulgar.”

The new fragrance is not for everyday use but meant for special occasions when you want “to pull out all the stops” and make a lasting impression, scent-wise that is. The creators of the fragrance, Stefano Gabbano and Domenico Dolce gave the scent the same base notes as the original but added tuberose, caramel-infused vanilla, sandalwood and musk, this time around to make it unforgettable. The new fragrance and campaign is estimated to bring in over $150 million in sales and that might help in the upcoming trial where both designers face prison sentences for tax evasion in the sum of $520 million. However, both designers are dismissing the charges as “absurd.”

Coming back to the fragrance, it looks like the “mighty duo” have done it again as only they can and with Johansson fronting the campaign, it can only go upwards from here.
