David Wailliams wants a “normal” name for baby

They are expecting and they are excited but where new parents-to-be are concerned, it’s time to think about baby names and comedian David Wailliams has spoken. He says he and wife Lara Stone want a “normal” name for their baby.

By that he means that names such as Peaches and Apple will not appear in their potential names for baby’s list. The couple announced news of the pregnancy last month and the baby is due next year. Wailliams spoke to Alan Carr on his chat show and made a clear statement: “It’s very hard because you have got a long time to think about it. But it’s a bit of a curse if you’re called Apple or Peaches or something like that. I think we’re just going to go with a normal name.” And we’re sure Gwyneth Paltrow and Bob Geldof are not amused as they named their respective children, Apple and Peaches.

It’s a trend if you’re a celebrity worth your salt these days to give your child a name that nobody else would think of naming them. Here are some of the more illustrious ones. Scout La Rue, Tallulah Belle or Blue Ivy but the one that takes the cake is the name of Uma Thurman and fiance Arpad Busson’s daughter. Are you ready? Here goes…..she’s called Rosalind Arusha Arkadina Attalune Florence Thurman – Busson. They simply call her Luna. Thank God for small blessings. A rep from Thurman’s camp told People Magazine, “Each name has a special reason and meaning to her mother and father.”

So, thank you Mr Wailliams for keeping a cool head on your shoulders and thinking that “normal” is the way to go.
