Ever wondered what happened to supermodel Karen Mulder?

Karen Mulder used to be one of the world’s leading supermodels during the 90’s when an appearance on the catwalk brought her thousands of dollars and then it all went down-hill. Success not only brought her world-recognization but with it came the problems.
In October 2001, Mulder claimed that top executives from her agency had tried to rape her and that her own father had hypnotized and also tried to rape her when she was two. She was deemed unstable and sent to a psychiatric hospital for help. In December 2002, she overdosed on sleeping pills in an apparent suicide attempt and was rushed to hospital and luckily for her, she awoke from the coma the next day.

July 2007 saw her making a come-back. She returned to the catwalk and walked for the Dior Autumn/Winter collection in Paris along with her model pals, Naomi Campbell, Linda Evangelista, Helena Christensen, Amber Valletta, Shalom Harlow and Stella Tennant.
These days she has traded in the catwalk for mommy-duty along with her trademark long golden locks. Karen was spotted on a beach in St Barts with her daughter Anna on Sunday and brought home the fact that “time and tide waits for no man” or woman in this case.
Gone were the drop-dead gorgeous looks but at 44 she is still a force to reckon with. The long slick curves could go up against someone much younger and the short curly sassy hairstyle seems to suit her just fine. The Dutch-born model looked great in a tiny black two-piece as she spent quality time with her daughter soaking up the hot Caribbean sunshine.
Her stratospheric rise to fame brought her many things, money, success, recognization but looking at her now, it seems that happiness is where she is right now playing in the sand with her daughter and where the catwalks of the world are just a distant memory. It looks like she has found what she has been looking for and that is a good thing.
