Kate Moss hits the big 4-0!

Born on this day 4 decades ago, British supermodel Kate Moss, who rose to fame in the early 1990’s, was spotted out celebrating her big day with her hubby Jamie Hince, on their way for a birthday lunch at London’s 34 restaurant. The fashion icon wore an leopard-print coat atop a faded black dress, and accessorized the outfit with matching high-heel brogues and a pale pink Chanel purse.

Close friends of the couple also attended the restaurant to celebrate the veteran supermodel’s birthday. Among them were fashion designers Stella McCartney and John Galliano, photographer Mario Testino, actress Sadie Frost, entrepreneurs Jo Wood and David Tang, and hair stylist James Brown. Moss’s mother Linda, who was escorted into the restaurant by Topshop owner Philip Green, also joined in.

All throughout the day, the mother-of-one’s home was swarmed by incoming gifts galore for the Croydon-born supermodel on her special day.

Furthermore, Chris Roberts published a new biography book dedicated to Kate Moss, released today. “She’s endured particularly well, and her career has had a longevity that I think most people didn’t think it would have when she was discovered at 14,” said the author of the publication.
