Christy Turlington: “I don’t want to look younger than I am”

At forty-five years of age, American supermodel Christy Turlington does not seem to have changed much physically since she began modeling more than twenty-five years ago, but the legendary fashion icon recently spoke about today’s obsession with defying time.

“Everybody is so anti-aging, but I don’t want to look younger than I am,” the statuesque mother-of-two told the American edition of Elle magazine in its July 2014 number. “Our face is a map of our life; the more that’s there, the better,” she said when addressing wrinkles and getting older.

“I’ve always loved those portraits that Alfred Stieglitz did of Georgia O’Keeffe over several years, which really convey the idea that there’s not one image that can capture a woman, because we’re changing all the time,” explained the charming brunette regarding her age-embracing philosophy.

Turlington’s complete interview, including exclusive photos of the mannequin by Carter Smith, can be found in the newest issue of Elle United States, which will hit newsstands on the 24th of June, 2014.
