Chloe unveils Francesca Allen’s ‘Konkursas’ at Paris Photo 2025
Luxury Parisian house Chloe presented British photographer Francesca Allen’s series ‘Konkursas’ (Lithuanian for ‘contest’) at the Paris Photo 2025 exhibition.
Documenting the annual ‘World’s Longest Hair’ competition (Konkursas Pasaulio Ilgaplaukės) in Kaunas, Lithuania, the series explores the dichotomy between modernity and tradition, featuring participants as they walk the runway, have their hair measured by gloved judges, and take part in a ritualistic finale.
Further extending the dialogue between photography and contemporary womanhood, the ‘Konkursas’ exhibition will be accompanied by a book also titled Konkursas, to be published by Chloe Arts and German publisher Steidl sometime this month,
The exhibition marks a return for Chloe Arts (an initiative to celebrate the achievements of female talent) as a partner of Paris Photo, (the world’s leading international art fair dedicated to photography). Embodying the maisons long-standing commitment to women supporting women through sponsorship and mentorship it serves as a collaborative space where the Chloe community comes together to empower and celebrate each other. Under the creative direction of Chemena Kamali, it reaffirms that commitment to contemporary creativity, nurturing emerging women artists, and create interdisciplinary conversations across various art fields.
