Piaget unveils Renovated Boutique on 16 Place Vendome

Swiss luxury watchmaker and jeweller Piaget has reopened its historic boutique on 16 Place Vendome.

A masterpiece of 17th-century urban design, the new space was designed by prominent New York-based architect, designer, and creative director Rafael de Cardenas. A reimagining and expansion of the existing historic location, it boasts an impressive 1900 sq ft, spanning two levels connected by a sinuous golden staircase and includes a second-floor space with a malachite-inspired ceiling fresco created by Julien Gautier.

The Exterior invites passers-by to immerse themselves in a world brimming with colors and shapes. Featuring circular windows and a ground floor window enhanced with blue sodalite panels, it pays homage to the Maison’s historic dials on one hand, and to 20th-century French decorative art on the other, particularly the work of masters such as Jean Royere and Jacques Ruhlmann.

The ground floor of the boutique retraces the Swiss Maison’s legacy via a gold colored ‘cabinet of virtuosity’ that exhibits precious heritage creations in dedicated display cabinets. Typical of Parisian Haussmann-style apartments, the new store has a series of adjoining spaces of intimate rooms where clients can discover the world of Piaget.

The interiors dazzle visitors with standout design pieces such as an iconic Mushroom armchair by Pierre Paulin, a precious lacquer console table inspired by the fusion of blue stone and liquid gold, an exclusive domed display cabinet and a plaster Savoir-Faire wall created by artist Caroline Perrin. A space bathed in delicate light, shades of blue, coral and gold blend together to echo the deeply rooted DNA of the Maison’s creations.

‘Designed by Rafael de Cardenas, the concept used for our flagship store marks a new chapter in the Maison’s creative expression. The boutique is a celebration of life, an explosion of light that subtly bears witness to the mastery of gold that has defined Piaget for all these years,’ Benjamin Comar, CEO of Maison Piaget stated in a press release.

‘Piaget has a strong identity, both sophisticated and creative. The Maison’s playful side, conveyed by different materials, colours and interplays of shapes allowed me to create a concept worthy of a cabinet of curiosities. I used refined products and collaborated with artists to echo both the exquisitely precise movement and the visionary rebelliousness of a Piaget watch,’ Cardenas added.

The Piaget boutique on 16 Place Vendome is open now from Monday to Saturday: 11:00-19:00.
