Gucci launches new IT bag inspired by Zumi Rosow

Gucci has released a new IT bag that is different from what we are used to from the fashion house.

Dubbed the Zumi bag, it is inspired by Alessandro Michele’s new muse, actress and experimental musician Zumi Rosow. With a boxy silhouette and a feminine, sophisticated look, the medium-sized, square bag shows the refined style of Gucci’s heritage where the classic horsebit with the intertwined G’s gives the bag the recognizable quality of the Italian fashion house.

The chic and minimalist bag made its debut, during the presentation of the 2019 summer and pre-fall collection but really picked up during the Autumn / Winter 2019 show. Unconventional and modern, it evokes an inherent free spirit with Zumi’s individual look creating an unexpected contrast to the structured, refined details of the bag. ‘It feels completely insane, like a dream,’ Rosow told Vogue. ‘I’m like, part Bastet, the Egyptian cat goddess, part bat, vampire, Zarina, a leather daddy, Joan of Arc, the Wild Child…’

There are various versions of the Zumi bag. The top-handle version features a distinctive double metal closure in a variety of colors and fine leathers such as python and elaphe (black, beige and red), ostrich (brown, dark orange and ivory) and crocodile (brown, dark green and gray). The shoulder bag variation comes in two sizes, small and mini, with detachable chain shoulder strap, adjustable upper handle in leather and a back pocket.

The Gucci Zumi bag is available now in all Gucci stores and online.
