Kate Upton goes for the “geek look”

It was almost as if she was going incognito. Blonde bombshell and every man’s dream girl, Kate Upton, wore geeky glasses and covered every inch of her gorgeous body by donning an over-sized long cardigan-style jacket, black skinny jeans and black boots. Her blond locks were left messy and her face was left make-up free but she still managed to attract lots of attention on her arrival at JFK airport in New York City on Monday. She flashed a big smile as she made her way through the airport, glad perhaps that people did still recognize her under her geeky façade.

Kate is trying to change her image from that of “bikini babe” to high fashion model and hot on her heels and offering lots of much needed support and advice are American Vogue and Vogue Italia. She made her ascent into the world of high fashion with a small editorial piece in US Vogue by covering up in an Altuzarra outfit which earned her the thumbs-up from fairy godmother Anna Wintour. Then it was on to a seven-page high profile spread in Vogue’s November issue where she modeled designs from Jason Wu, Calvin Klen and Michael Kors, proving that she is not just a “bikini babe.“ Young Marilyn Monroe lookalike Kate took lots of criticism about her curvy figure when pro-anorexia website “Skinny Gossip” took aim and fired. They labeled her as a “cannibal” after she was seen tucking into a burger for Carl Jr’s burger commercial. Their exact words were, “I thought cannibalism was illegal? If that’s not a very different species of cow, Kate could be in legal trouble!” During an interview with Vogue Italia she said, “I love fashion. And I am excited to be in a place where I can be a good example. I don’t want to starve myself. I still want to hang out with my family and be a normal girl. You have to be confident and that doesn’t mean starving yourself. I think it’s important to look at magazines and think a healthy lifestyle is attainable….I’m happy if I can have an influence.“ All good things and spoken like a champion and one who insists that she doesn’t want to be “every man’s fantasy.”

However, the “normal girl” image might just take a little more than just geeky glasses and a bad hair day to achieve. This girl’s got sex-appeal oozing out from every single pore and that folks is the honest truth.
