Naomi Campbell denies bullying The Face contestant

British supermodel Naomi Campbell is no stranger to scandals, and now the South London-native is being accused by Kira Dikhtyar, a contestant on season two of the American version of the modeling panel reality show “The Face,” of allegedly bullying the former gymnast from Russia. The 24 year-old hopeful claims that Campbell caused her psychological damage.

“Naomi hates Russians,” said Dikhtyar to New York Post’s Page Six newswriter Richard Johnson. “She’s an amazing woman, but it’s very hard to work with her. She put all her [negative] energy on me. After filming ended, they sent me to doctors. I’m still recovering. The network is still paying for my psychiatrist,” she added.

A spokesperson for Oxygen, the television network that produces the US version of the franchise spoke up about the model’s allegations, saying “These claims are false. Naomi and her fellow coaches are utmost professionals and judge the contestants on their ability as aspiring supermodels solely, and viewers will see this as The Face unfolds.” Dikhtyar will compete in the second season of the show, to be aired next month.

Furthermore, a source close to Campbell also refuted the Dikhtyar’s claims. “Her allegations are absurd,” they told British Vogue. “We’re sorry Kira is unwell and we hope she gets the help she obviously needs,” said Campbell’s team.
